That Dayton game from Maui has to be towards the top for me. Game itself was amazing, knowing where Dayton ended that season made it that much more fun to go back and watch.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 10:59 am Favorite November games--hard for anything to come close to these 2 for me.
1. 2006 vs. Florida
2. 2013 vs. Duke
Yep, and I almost included that one as a candidate for #3. My hesitance was just remembering how disappointed we were that we were not able to play Michigan State, so the leadup to the game wasn't quite there compared to some other games. Little did we know how good Toppin and Dayton were.NDballer13 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 11:28 amThat Dayton game from Maui has to be towards the top for me. All though ugly games in KC leave a bad taste in the mouth.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 10:48 amI stand corrected in terms of recent history. First thought with this tourney was how it would fall in line with WC viewing. And also am not confident that KU will be playing the championship on this one. We usually aren't consistent early season tourney champs, even with teams that return a lot.
21-22: won the ESPN Events title
20-21: didn't do one
19-20: won Maui title
18-19: won NIT Season Tip off title
17-18: won game over Syracuse dubbed the Miami Hoophall Classic but no true early season tourney
16-17: won CBE Classic title
15-16: won Maui title
14-15: won Orlando Classic title
13-14: lost in semis of Battle for Atlantis
Can't believe it's been that long since we played/lost in Atlantis.
I wish KU would stop accepting the CBE invites. Only do it if like UNC, duke or Nova are involved.twocoach wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 1:02 pmAll though ugly games in KC leave a bad taste in the mouth.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 10:48 amI stand corrected in terms of recent history. The reason they do it regularly is because it's in KC. If I remember right, when it very first started, they had a rotation going where there was always one of KU, K-State, and Mizzou in it every year.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 1:36 pmI wish KU would stop accepting the CBE invites. Yes, for the most part. And I've always felt there was some kind of obligation of the local schools to accept the invite from the local organization, whether that's true or not. Certainly there could be a larger ticket allotment for the local schools.UnholyLivingDead wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 1:44 pmThe reason they do it regularly is because it's in KC. I would certainly rather they play another home game but I get why they do them. But I refuse to attend them.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 1:36 pmI wish KU would stop accepting the CBE invites. Looks like we were on a 4-year rotation but haven't done it since 2016--maybe COVID was part of that, but I'd be good if we were done with it for awhile absent a big out of conference brand being there.twocoach wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 1:50 pmI would certainly rather they play another home game but I get why they do them.
