Did the thing last night!

Where you throw boiling water in the air and it immediately evaporates

It’s cold

Was it cool to see? (No pun intended)

We tried maybe last winter or the winter before, but it either wasn't quite cold enough or i didn't get the boiling water out there quick enough because it didn't really work very well.

For all you meteorological nerds out there, an interesting read. Colorado’s windstorm was rare: Stratospheric Intrusion, Tropopause Folding.

It’s supposed to be in the 80s Friday-Sunday here in DFW. Expecting a new record high on Christmas Day! Nuts.

Yeah, I am headed to Dallas this week.

Gonna send pics of myself in shorts drinking a margarita at Katy Trail Outpost Sunday to my new friends in Coeur d’Alene…. Where it will be 9 degrees

I remember that ice storm. Wasn't it in October of 1996 or something in KC? What a mess. I had to go to Hy-Vee to get candles and I didn't even have a flashlight. I was 6 months out of KU and these important precaution necessities hadn't dawned on me, or I just couldn't afford a flash light at the time...:)

That's a bummer, never fun. I broke my ankle years ago after I slipped on some ice. Not fun. Hope you have power. Always a joy picking up all the broken branches from the trees from the weight of ice or replacing gutters after the weight of the ice rips them from your house.

Pop quiz winter tourists edition!

So about a foot of snow and counting here. And the roads are shit. Yall fly past everyone else driving cautiously, and surprise surprise yall slide off the road. Nobody’s hurt, but now yall’s suburban is stuck in the ditch.

Do you:

A. Wait in the car and call a tow truck?
B. Get out of the car and wait somewhere safe? Maybe even make some effort to warn other drivers?
C. Get out of the car and inexplicably just stand in the middle of the slippery road, with zero awareness that yall are STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF A SLIPPERY ROAD, so the next driver has to serve to avoid yall and ends up going in the ditch too?

Choose wisely yall!

option D? get out the chains, if that fails, winch or come along + tree + block/tackle?

Actually, it was option E: luck out when this enterprising local with a big diesel truck and a tow rope offers to pull yall out the ditch.

It was actually a former coworker. Pretty sure he makes decent cash as a freelance/rogue towing service this time or year.

I’d just be concerned about the potential liability issues.

even better. it's time consuming to rig up the block and tackle
