I admit my confusion. Those on the "right" blame those on the "left" for overreacting about Covid and yet I keep seeing people on the "right" freaking out about something that MIGHT or might NOT happen regarding Covid. So.... Paranoia works both ways and people are hypocrites?
Things are already beginning to happen. I get what you're saying. But for example there have been some universities reimplimenting masks, up to date boosters, etc
People just don't want to go down that road.
Everyone stay safe stay healthy. Eat well and exercise. But don't for a second think you're going to start forcing others to do things
As the great Jack Brickhouse would say, "Hey Hey"! You made a post that I can agree with and relate to.
Unfortunately Covid did become political and as we know too well, politics in the USA = "a great divider". Covid didn't/doesn't discriminate. You would think we could and would have put our political differences aside but no.....
Your best defense against Covid is to never be exposed to Covid. Your next-best defense against Covid is to minimize your exposure to Covid.
Collectively, our best defense against Covid is to minimize the spread of Covid (and, with it, the evolution of new variants etc.).
Why are you people so insistent on doing things the hard way?
I had covid with virtually no symptoms. Sounds like a perfect defense. Continue doing what I'm doing. Exercising, eating healthy, and ignoring politicians.
I even had the delta variant, which the fear mongers told us all was the deadliest.
So no fish, I don't see any reason to play along with political propaganda in the next power/money grabbing scheme
You people and your problems with big numbers.
It’s not all about you, you snowflake.
Exactly. It's about us all. Restricting government overreach today, and tomorrow

Holy shit, Mich gets it!
Or you rebirth the China fungus as a pretext for reimposing lockdowns and making mail-in ballots the only option, thus making it even easier to manufacture the required number of votes to ensure his re-election.

I'm not assigning a number to it. Your best defense against covid always has been and always will be simply living a healthy lifestyle. Eat well, consume vitamins and nutrients in your diet, exercise. Stay healthy
If you want to wear a mask and get booster shots, by all means go ahead. I support that. But do not try to force that on others. I refuse to live my life behind a filter, and refuse to take anymore treatments for a virus I know barely affects me
I’m sorry, this is just bullshit.

Mortality studies suggest it may have shortened your life by weakening organs. Even in people with mild symptoms. A mask might not have been a bad precaution. I had a friend in terrific health die of COVID. Pre-vaccination days. No precautions. Pneumonia. Blood clots.

YOU had Covid with virtually no symptoms. What YOU choose to do is fine - for YOU.
The BIG problem is YOU are not everyone else.
While YOU may believe YOU are providing good advice, please STOP trying to tell others what YOU feel is best for them and everyone else and how they can avoid Covid and complications from Covid.
I say that being I know people who exercise/d, eat/ate healthy, and ignored politicians, and they not only still contracted Covid, they had a really shitty experience with it. THEY don't count/matter? Only YOU and what YOU experienced means it will be the same for others?
I'm thinking the next round/variant of Covid maybe I should just try and get a just a little bit of Covid so I can see how Covid will affect ME - and then hopefully I can tell people that it wasn't so bad for ME so it won't be so bad for THEM in the future.

If you’re concerned about YOU, then YOU need to take measures to protect YOURSELF and stop expecting the rest of us to shut down our lives for YOU.

I 100% agree in regards to taking measures to protect YOURSELF. Problem is/was there were/are way too may YOUS who didn't/don't give a fuck about others and because of it, WE suffered.
I didn't expect a single person to do anything JUST for ME. The "shutdown/s" were not for ME. They were for US.
Right or wrong of me, I did (and continue to) expect people to do SOME things out of common sense and dignity for others. Covid related or not.
I don't believe there will be another "shutdown" unless we see something worse than 1 million Americans dying. If God forbid that happens, then I will reluctantly (but still will) be on board. I fully understand many others will not be.

I got it during the mask days. I wore them. Everyone was wearing them

I've said repeatedly if you wanna mask up and get boosters the rest your life that's your choice. I support it. Just don't try forcing your approach on others
I'm not a fan of the endless drain on tax dollars and the way covid is continually used by fear mongers to gain political power tho

We all remember the b.s.: two weeks to stop the virus; six weeks to flatten the curve and so forth. None of it worked. The bottom line is that, if you are concerned about getting sick, you need to barricade yourself in your home until you feel safe. The rest of us will continue to live our lives.

"B.S." or not, PART of why it didn't work was because people didn't strictly adhere to it. Correct? Or incorrect?
I agree with your bottom line but I would use the word should instead of need - if I was using your and randy's logic.
My issue with "the rest of us" is that much of "the rest of us" doesn't give a fuck about anyone but themselves. Because of "the rest of us", many people who wanted and tried to stay healthy and alive - didn't stay healthy and alive. Including health care workers who were trying to treat and care for people who had other medical issues and not just Covid.

If any of it actually worked, I'd be a lot more inclined to comply. As it accomplished nothing, aside from wrecking the economy, putting kids two years behind educationally, creating supply chain problems that we're still dealing with, and creating a mental health crisis that we may be working to mitigate for years to come, I will not be participating this time around.
It is obvious to many of us that this was a social engineering experiment designed to derail the Trump presidency and to test the waters for a larger, more draconian event that is meant to herd us all into 15-minute cities with controlled access to food, water, and electricity. Google Agenda 2030 if you don't believe me. I refuse to be led willingly into that kind of situation.
