Lindsey Graham does what makes Lindsey Graham look good, even if it means going against everything you said and did for the last week/month/year.

He is the most disingenuous a-hole out there, save for Rubio

Josh Hawley might need his own thread soon. This mfer is taking some serious heat right now.

I don’t feel sorry for him, not one little bit, but it’s got to be unfathomably terrifying to have, in the course of a week, thrown away a lifetime’s worth of planning.

For real. 4 years is a long time.

Especially with all the back alley media spin machines that can work in his favor. All he needs is the token distancing from Wednesday, while also holding strong to some message of “conservative values,” whatever the fuck that means.

I think the real question is, what happens to the Republican Party?

Cuuuuz what went down Wednesday, though shocking, was really not any surprise. It’s the kind of shit the tail-wagging-the-dog tea party right has fetishized about for a long time now. Hell, the president himself told us it was going to happen!

So is the gop really ready to commit to that “soul searching” they were supposed to do in 2012? Do enough adults in the room stand up?

Cuz until or unless that happens, Hawley’s prob a frontrunner in 2024. He’s the kind of crazy republicans crave.

the cravenness of folks like hawley and cruz give me little hope

kc star apparently calling for hawley’s resignation

this is why impeachment is so important...unless i’m mistaken, it would prevent trump from holding public office in the future

one would think that the gop would want to move on

Of course they’ll never admit it out loud, but Wednesday was great for the GOP. Gives them an excuse to bail on Trump. Gives them a shot to avoid splintering into factions in such a way as would have cost them the next ten years.

There is zero % chance dt will be the nominee in 2024. None.

Hopefully he just lays real low these next 12 days. Not to be heard from. No public appearances. Nothing.

I think the George W GOP party comes back. More middle of the road-ish type of GOP party. Trumplican party is done. The Hawley's, Cruz's, Perry's of the congress will be wiped away. But here's the thing, I think Trump runs as an independent of some sort in 2024. I don't think he'll have the backing of the GOP anymore. He'll run as the leader of some party. He is not a republican, he has not been a republican and he won't ever be a republican. He ran for the republican party because he knew he could persuade them after they had Obama as president for 8 years.

My parents who are pretty staunch republicans called me on Wednesday to talk about how sick they were of the events that transpired and that they are worried about future of the country as long as Trump is still involved. But yet, they still voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 due primarily to financial reasons (They are well off financially and his plans have helped them the most) but they told me that it will be difficult for them to vote for any person who had any allegiance to Trump from this point on. I won't get much more into the conversation but I told them they were blind if they didn't see this coming, but good for them for finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel..

Yeah he'll do something. He can't help himself.
