right?

i was blown away when i saw it. that’s just one part of the monument, on the west side of the mountains. Portal sits on the east side, and is spectacular in its own way

Image

i would’ve never explored it if not for a work trip, since it’s so goddamn remote. the remoteness, i’m sure, has kept it so pristine

i was there a couple years ago, and was amazed at the border patrol presence

But, seriously, this is definitely on my list!

That is why I love Overlanding. Get off the highways, go see.

Point A to point B, avoiding paved roads as much as possible.

Trad, man, I implore you to reconcile with Qusdahl.

You’re like 95% of the way there!

Like you’re literally making sarcastic comments about patterns of consumption, that’s what half the memes are about.

Tho deconstructing the last 5% is trickiest, but at least be open to it.

I’m making the effort.

I’d appreciate it if you could dial back the condescension as well.

That’s not what I said.

For real, I’m willing to make the effort to reconcile.

Life is just too short to be assholes to acquaintances on the internet…especially acquaintances who you’d been on very pleasant terms with for years prior.

i’ve not seen any actual change

I don’t think it’s fucked up, nor childish, to try for positions like, “I’m willing to make the effort to reconcile.”

Rather, please realize that’s me taking the high road.

It’s also a conscious effort to change to something better than the previous bickering.

At some point we all have to ask ourselves:

Are you willing to make the effort?

Whatever that was up there was not the high road.

Nevertheless, if reconciliation is truly what Ousdahl wants then he may have to come to grips with the fact that there are topics on this site that he should not participate in.

Take it from someone who himself had to stop participating in every single thread, especially some of the ones where his contributions weren't productive for himself or others.

Some of these topics you're continually attempting to engage in are complicated. Even more so when the discussion is taking place on the internet, where posters have varying levels of ability to well communicate their thoughts via text.

The tldr version is basically find some other place (reddit or something, to a more receptive audience) to engage in these topics that are getting you in these situations over on the poli bored.....and then you'll get along much better in the other areas of the bored.

Just a thought.

Good post illy.

I don’t agree word for word, but I think certain elements do get to the point.

I’ve been posting less and less about certain issues for the sake of just trying to enjoy the rest of the boreds - what’s left of them, anyway.

Please consider it my effort to reconcile.

Cuz the worst part has been the not getting along in other areas of the bored just cuz of some disagreement about pols…as if I haven’t also been bringing my usually serviceable penis humor in other areas of the bored anyway.
