I still struggle to understand why all these subpoenas weren’t part of the impeachment inquiry thread

I think it was more, Dems were afraid they’d loose support if they dragged it on for too long?
Or some shit

Cuz it was clear pubs heads were buried. They were voting to acquit no matter what.
OK. So keep digging. And make them vote to acquit despite all the evidence, not because of the lack of evidence, which was the only argument they had.

It just seems that like many, he sees his small slice of life as representative of the entire nation's situation. Maybe all of the Republicans he knows and interacts with all think Trump is a dumb fuck. I certainly know some Republicans who feel that way. But it is plainly obvious that there is still a fully devoted Trump Base that sees him as their desired leader of the GOP.

it’s more than that, imo
he’s either trolling, or he’s willfully ignorant to the reality that most elected pubs are still groveling at trump’s feet
i couldn’t care less about the republican next door when it comes to topics like this because they aren’t the ones legislating. the elected ones are those trying to make the rules (or break them)
it’s great that some “normal” republicans are tired of trump…but i can count on one hand the number of republican lawmakers who seem to feel similarly. that’s pathetic and has zero to do with how “normal” democrats feel about trump. it’s all about retaining whatever power they have at all costs, integrity or morality be damned.

“Willfully ignorant” is among the core tenets of modern conservatism
not that there’s many core tenets either way
pretty much that and owning the libs

This whole notion that if any example of something not being true exists then it is never true is also in play.

the core tenet of the current democrat party is "keep dt alive"
pretty much that and if we keep dt alive they won't notice the do nothing.
trust me, we know dt is dead and we notice the do nothing.

BOTH PARTIES have to negotiate in good faith in order for it to function with some semblance of normality. When one party (not naming names) hasn't really done that for almost 20 years, and has been blatantly obvious about it for the past 13, you end up with 'do nothing' government.
There's a reason why from 2010-2016 it seemed we were staring at another government shutdown every few months - because the Republicans simply wouldn't raise the debt limit (something they did without issue during every previous president's tenure). There's a reason why hundreds of bills passed by the House from early 2019 to early 2021 never even saw a Senate committee - because McConnell never let them through. That's the epitome of 'do nothing'. There's a reason why this year Democrats are apparently negotiating with themselves - because they have no choice. The party of 'NO' actually does nothing, and has done nothing for over a decade.
And no, the Democrats don't have all the answers. Not even close. They seem to be wrong more than they seem to be right, but at least they try. At least they put forth some type of effort. Republicans? What have they really done in the past 20+ years besides cut taxes for the wealthy and corporations, get us in endless, unnecessary wars, and balloon the deficit? What major legislation have they SPONSORED AND PASSED in the past 20 years that actually made life better for the vast majority of Americans? Anything? I honestly can't think of a major bill that passed that they created. Maybe I'm blinded by rage and am missing something. Anything. Hell, I'd even take major legislation they actually, officially SPONSORED but didn't pass as an example.

Mich comes along every day or two and drops a big ole Cleveland Steamer on the boreds. He then refuses to back up his horse grunt claims with any actual data or facts and waits a couple of days to come back and start the process all over again. He then thinks that he won the internets.
