Sold O'Hearn to the Baltimore Plantation.
Very weird situation. The Royals will end up paying several hundreds of thousands of dollars (perhaps more) for the privilege of shedding O'Hearn from the 40-man...when they could have done it for free like a month ago.

O’Hearn was immediately DFA by Orioles. Small market teams do weird things.

Pitching, specifically relief pitching, still wanting.

Aroldis Chapman to the Royals for $3.75M. Will be a for sure trade piece.
Smart move by Royals in a baseball sense.
Hate the move by Royals in the values sense.

Last 2 days Royals have traded Michael A Taylor to Twins and Mondesi to Red Sox.
Got 2 minor league arms for Taylor that are promising and then got a good relief pitcher in Josh Taylor from Boston.

The worry is that they are dumping salary. But they have a good core of young starters if a few of them stabilize with good coaching. Mondi was a dream when he played. If he played.

I hate the Mondesi deal. Pure sell-low.

Pitchers and catchers and a question of whether or not I want MLB subscription this year. Pissed by the black-outs. But a Matheny free year would be marvelous to watch.

Well, just keep your powder dry. The whole TV rights thing is literally melting down as we speak. You may have more/better/cheaper options very soon.

Didn’t I hear that MLB Network was going to have a lot more games and even on split screen and MLB TV was going to wave all blackouts..?

If they waive the blackouts, I am in. Baseball is a good background sport for Summer.

No sport is better at pointing the gun at its own dick and emptying the clip than baseball. It's my first love as a sport, for sure, and I hope it becomes more accessible as all of this gets sorted out. But I'm not optimistic.

Read up a bit more. They may allow in market streams through MLB TV. Not sure if extra cost (I’m sure there will be)

I don't know half the Royals players anymore. Since Bally took over, I haven't watched a game on TV in several years. I think I went to 2 last year, but those were more corporate events, so I didn't pay much attention to the game.
