Gain of function is a part of virology research. Federal funding of GOF was shut off.randylahey wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 1:28 pm We do not allow gain of function study in the US. Faucci denies funding it all and tries to twist that definition to remove himself and the NIH from liability
Prosperity is a zero sum game. To give more to you, it has to be taken from me. There is no ethereal prosperity generator. Your kind labels it with euphemisms like “redistribution of wealth,” but it’s nothing more than taking from the haves to give to the have nots by people who exempt themselves from the game.twocoach wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 11:31 amNo, it doesn't at all. You seriously can't think that the only way to progress towards these goals is to lock up everyone in detention camps, take their cars and feed them crickets, right?JKLivin wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 11:24 amAgain, it comes down to the difference between people who engage in magical thinking - e.g. "We'll wave a magic wand and end poverty in all its forms," - and those who understand that, in order for certain ends to be achieved, there are means that logically have to be employed, e.g. to end poverty, wealth and property must be taken from those who have it and redistributed to those who do not (who does that sound like, I wonder?!?). You can go down every item on that list and either agree that the puppies and bunnies/magical solution is correct or realize that it will mean taking away rights and privileges that those of us in the First World enjoy and even take for granted in order to marginally raise the standard of living of those in the Third World. Ultimately, it will not raise up everyone so much as lower everyone to the same miserable level. Mark me down as a hard "no" for that plan.twocoach wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 10:34 am
Yes, I am sure that the boogeyman police can dream up all sorts of non-existent what-if scenarios like you described. But worrying that they might happen and stating that they will happen are two different things. I worry about hypotheticals a lot but I don't run around screaming that they are happening without actual evidence that they are happening.
Fortunately there are people with functioning brains working on these goals and not fucking morons.
You have created a world where only your insane solutions can possibly be the solutions that get used despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary. You do not accept reality as reality. Best of luck to you.JKLivin wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 1:54 pmProsperity is a zero sum game. To give more to you, it has to be taken from me. There is no ethereal prosperity generator. I am not referring to anyone.randylahey wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 1:45 pm There was little honesty coming from the "experts" if you are refering to guys like faucci. The scientific model allows for scientists to compare data and hypothesis to try to prove/disprove conclusions. Faucci was actively running smear campaigns and trying to silence other highly qualified scientists. Watch it and give me your opinions

This is not true. Not sure why you believe this.

Faucci, to me, was a hero.
The voice of reason, experience and calm in the face of one of the worst non-war emergencies this country has ever faced. And he did it while the mouth breathers, who have no idea what they are talking about, were campaigning for his murder.
You worship the "man" who suggested you took horse medicine, shoved a lightbulb up your ass and drink bleach.
rudy g in 2001 was a hero.
