DMac will always have some match ups where he just sucks and is overwhelmed but overall, he has continually improved. He isn't an elite player but he has a ton of talent around him that will keep the lane from being plugged up with sagging defenders. His success will come down to whether or not KU can hit a high enough volume of threes around him to keep the lane more open.

Please read the bolded copy of my response that you quoted.
Again, if you read it the first time.
I did. We didn't play Gonzaga in 2021, assmouth.

Yeah exactly, I can't handle politics or the COVID thread anymore, so I'm just going to chill here and tell illy and pdub that they're stupid for their opinions.

Fair point....but nobody mentions that when talking about how Jalen is the best rebounder ever because of his rebounds per game....even though i can think of a handful of better rebounders we've had as our 4 during the Self era.
A knock against DMac of course is staying on the court -- and he definitely needs to time rebounds much better this season -- but per 40 minutes, Jalen and DMac's rebounds are almost exactly the same ( 11.1 vs 10.7 ). In 2013, Withey's rebounding numbers were 11.0 per 40 minutes.
Dave is a better rebounder than Jalen at the 5. It's not really even close. Dave is a big ass dude.

Jalen and CBs rebounding numbers are at least slightly inflated from playing on a team that didn't have a real big in the game for 16ish mpg last year.

I'm good with this. This is a much more worthwhile discussion.

Break out season coming right up. He's going to change some minds this year I think. He's already got 1 30pt game in his career. We might see multiple 20pt+ games this year.

It would appear the Athletic Department has fully embraced the angry Jayhawk for this years apparel offering and I'm all for it.

On a note with that. Self has been rocking some amazing gear all offseason and I want all of it. The baby blue 1/4 that he had in a video like a month ago, the stuff he wore at Late Nite and more. Leipold has worn some cool stuff on the football sidelines too.

Most of Self's stuff is from adidas golf collection and then the athletic department has a Jayhawk logo slapped on it some where. Point being you can't buy it like that from Fanatics or addias.com but you usually can find the exact same item and replicate.

New from ESPN (Borzello) today:

Can Remy Martin be more facilitator than scorer?

The only question for Kansas entering the offseason was at point guard. The Jayhawks were losing Marcus Garrett, who shouldered most of the ball-handling responsibilities last season, and there was no obvious replacement. But Bill Self went out and landed Arizona State transfer Remy Martin, arguably the best transfer in the country last spring. Martin earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors each of the last two seasons and averaged 19.1 points each of those two campaigns.

In Lawrence, though, Martin will be playing a much different style than in Tempe -- Arizona State was the fastest team in the Pac-12 each of the past two seasons -- and he's not going to be tasked with lighting up the scoreboard every night. Four veteran starters who averaged at least 9.8 points are all back. So Martin will have the ball in his hands, but he'll have to look to distribute and facilitate more than score. It's also interesting to note that Self told reporters last month that Dajuan Harris is in the discussion to start at point guard ahead of Martin. I think Martin adapts his game and makes a huge impact; it's why I have Kansas No. 2 nationally.
