Argh. I think my dog blew out a knee ligament last night. Sitting in my car outside the vet's office waiting. Crap crap crap.
Mine did too. ACL, Surgery on Tuesday. What are the odds?

Torn cranial cruciate ligament. Looks like I'll be supporting the local economy by spending thousands of dollars on a doggy knee surgery.
FUCK.

I hate insurance companies. I'd rather sell an organ than give them any more of my money.

I'm lucky that my vet performs that surgery. At least I don't have to go to a specialist and pay 4X as much money, which I think is usually the case.

Yep, that is the path I am headed down. Our first available appointment at the place that does surgeries for a damn consultation isn't until 2 weeks from now so I guess my dog just has to suffer until then. At least she got pain pills and anti-inflammatories.
My list of things I have to do/want to do that has a comma in the price tag just gets longer and longer. Crap. I guess we'll replace the basement carpet next year.

Carpet is relatively cheap and fairly easy to install. Do it yourself. If I was on Nebraska I'd even come help. Save a bunch by doing it yourself.
But the real question is why do have carpet in the basement. I dont really love carpet anywhere really, but particularly not in a basement.
Sorry about your dog, that sucks.

PhD & twocoach - I'm sorry to hear/read about your dogs! It's the definition of sucks.
As a general statement, I like most dogs more than I like most people.
I hope your dogs will make fairly quick and a solid recovery.

Because my home theater is in my basement and I don't want my audio echoing off of a hard floor. And because it is our play area for the kids and I to play and make messes. I am too old to be crawling around on concrete doing legos.

There was a series called Kings of Pain (I think) where two knuckleheads traveled around the world to get bit and stung by various critters. Kind of entertaining.

Steve Mnuchen and Axl Rose get into a twitter slap fight. Great.
At the end of "Where the Buffalo Roam" Bill Murray says as HST "It never got weird enough for me". Well, no one is gnawing on Richard Nixon's skull, but it's now weird enough for me.

The part that made me laugh the hardest was Stevie M couldn't figure out that the Liberian flag doesn't quite look like the American flag - and of all people in the world, Axl Rose had a pretty good comeback for it.
As far as what Axl has done for the country, maybe Stevie M should be asking the guys at the Honeywell plant who had HIS (Axl's Guns N' Roses) version of a song blasting while Donnie was visiting?
LOFL!
