Illinois will find a way to fuck it up.

The dispensary experience, from what I've been told since I haven't gone into 1 yet, is shitty. You don't ever see the product..someone just walks up to you in line with an iPad and you choose. Not that I "need" to see the flower, but it would be nice to just kind of look and pick from a display case.

Not sure how they do it everywhere, but the Colorado/California buying experience is far superior from what I've been told...obviously it's early in the game. I'm going to 1 today when I'm out and about working to buy a disposable vape pen just to check it out. Shits crazy expensive though. $50+ and then 30% tax for 500mg seems crazy, but oh well.
$50 + 0.3% tax = $65 for ½ a gram? Damn! That is expensive.

$65/0.5 gram x 28 grams/ounce = $3640 per ounce? Check my math, because that's unbelievable.

In Florida, medicinal flower is ~ $40 - $50 for 3.5 grams, tax included.

$50/3.5 grams x 28 grams/ounce = $400/ounce

If my math is right, pot in Illinois is 9.1 times more expensive than Florida.

There's a reason Illinois is a fiscal basket-case.

I was referencing the vape oil.

Flower is about $65 for 3.5grams.

Fwiw. I just left 1 of the central IL dispensaries. After tax $77 for 3.5grams of flower. Went with the intention of getting a vape pen because I thought they were sold out of flower, but guy said they got more within the last few hours so I went with flower..

It's very good quality flower....but I can get similar enough for $250 an ounce...so definitely way overpriced still, but I wanted to check it out for myself.

The prices don't seem to be affecting the demand. Every store is inconvenient and has long lines and is out.
I am more than willing to pay 60 for an eighth. That's nothing considering the benefit.

A former tenant at one of my Colorado properties had a day job where she worked for 2 hours in the mornings at the front desk of a Pagosa Springs resort hotel. It didn't seem like the pay was worth going there so I asked her why? She said she checked out the guests and then made a quick run-through of their rooms before housekeeping got there. She cleaned up on prerolled and edibles every day. Tourists eyes are often bigger than their stays allow them to stomach.

The State of Missourah just published the names and locations of the first licensed dispensaries last week. There will be one within walking distance of my office, so I can drop by during lunch. There will be two on my route home. Even tiny little Parkville will have two. Feral will member the old restaurant that looked like a riverboat next to the Post Office, they finally found a good use for that crappy building.

Finally said screw it, I'll stand in line, so headed out of work early. Been standing in line about 15 minutes and it's long and slow. Probably going to take at least two hours.

If you are driving east out of Colorado, stop in Burlington and fill your tank. Assume the truck stop/Starbucks in Coby has the KBI K9 Unit there drinking coffee and walking the parking lot, because they are. Drive as far past the State line as you can before stopping to refill your tank.

Pro Tip #2 - Go to the grocery and buy a bottle of metamucil powder. Dump the contents. Go to the dispensary in Denver and ask for Ripple powder by Stillwater. Refill the metamucil bottle with the white flavorless/odorless powder. Put the bottle in your bag with your toothpaste and go home. Put the powder in your morning coffee and have a nice day.
