It's going to suck because let's say she gets 10% of the vote/s. That's probably going to be only about 10% less than the top 2 vote getters.

So, there are two LaShawn Fords?

There are when I make a copy and paste and don't pay attention to what I'm doing. The irony is some people will vote for him twice. LaShawn is a dude for those who were unsure - probably like 75% of those who will be voting tomorrow.

Chicago Mayoral Erection Tuesday. No one polling at more than 20%. Need 50% + 1 to be elected.
Run off for top 2 vote getters. I have little to no doubt there will be a recount and/or contested results.
I'm going to predict Mendoza and Daley finish top 2. Preckwinkle lands #3. Chico 4. Lighfoot 5. Vallas 6.
Will be interesting to see how Enyia fares. She does have decent support from African American "names" but I don't think she finishes top 6.
I'm still undecided who I will vote for.
Who ya got / who ya want?
Gery Chico
William M. Daley
Amara Enyia
Robert Fioretti
La Shawn K. Ford
La Shawn Ford
Neal Sáles-Griffin
Jerry Joyce
John Kolzar
Lori Lightfoot
Garry McCarthy
Susana Mendoza
Toni Preckwinkle
Paul Vallas
Willie Wilson
I like Lightfoot, but I'm afraid she doesn't have a chance.
She’d have my vote too, if I wasn’t concerned it might count as an impermissible benefit for Mitch.

She's pretty much the opposite of Mitch. She's a short black gay chick.

Sherrod Brown.
Run a "progressive" and say hello to Trump 2.0. Brown has the genuine "populism" bonafides Trump cynically coopted in '16 with his apocalyptic nonsense spewed from Bullshit Mountain. He has the rust belt, rolled up shirtsleeve appeal of a Biden - but isn't 90 years old. Won re-election in an increasingly red Ohio handily. He'd turn off progressives? He has the baggage of being too cozy with Trump on trade and opposition to NAFTA? Populist bonafides. Democrats just want to get The Beast out of the WH. They'll vote for him.
This is NOT a "liberal" country. The independents and fence sitting, disaffected suburban Republicans are NOT interested in identity politics and free shit. You will NEVER hear "democratic" ahead of "socialist" when the propaganda machine gets ahold of Sanders or any other "pay for free day care by taxing millionaires" featherweight.
And don't run a woman. I'm sorry - the optics are what they are. You're going to be running against the love child of Andrew Dice Clay and Ted Bundy. There's no way a woman consumes as much oxygen or real estate. There's very little in the way of policy proposals that will be able to compete with a pathological liar saying everything is better than it's ever been in the history of the country. Call me sexist - I'm a realist.
I cast my first vote for George McGovern - the most decent man to have run for the presidency, and he didn't carry his own zip code against a venal filth-pig named Dick Nixon - another in a long line of Republican criminals. We are a nation of idiots - and Trump cornered the market. I had the liberal idealism beaten out of me long ago.
Sherrod Brown.
Because I'm always right, and I never lie.
I dunno, I was thinking maybe Sherrod's not kooky like the rest of the dem candidates but after listening to his MSNBC interviews he sounds kinda like Alex Jones who I can hardly stand listening to with his gravelly voice, (maybe not a disqualifier).
Tulsi Gabbard is the least kooky of all the dems but I don't know if she is a strong enough candidate, and then you have the woman thing, however if I was voting democratic I believe I could vote for her.

I am pretty sure that the vast majority of Dems will find a way to tolerate pretty much whichever candidate comes out of the process and makes the ticket. I am not even going to bother to review the candidates until after a few primaries are done next year. Too many to worry about at this point and I dont live in Iowa so I wont have a full slate to choose from.

One for sure black lesbian and another assumed black lesbian in the chicago mayoral run-off.
Daley comes in 3rd.
Times they are a changing.
Who ya got? Lori or Toni?
Even though Lori had more of the popular vote in the first election - I think Toni wins in the run-off.

Me too. I thought he was an absolute shoo-in. But then again, our voter turnout was embarrassingly low.
I'm really happy for Lightfoot (Mitch and Lori). I'm a bit happier than McCarthy and Vallas pulled up the rear.

Why’s that?
I guess governors are valued candidates cuz executive experience and all that, right?
What about framing a campaign on the issue of climate change?

Ah yes, the "green new deal", I would hope infrastructure would be important.

Trump once said he was Mr Infrastructure. I am confident that he also claimed to know more about it than anyone else.
So, is it safe to assume that he already all over this issue? Or does the wall negate the need?

I don't hate anyone.
I do feel that Donald Trump is the worst thing to happen to this country in my lifetime.
And your claim that Democrats (which I am not) embarrassing themselves is hilarious.
