It had occurred to me to feel sorry for our diplomat to Denmark, but then, who am I to piss against Karma?

Imagine accepting this position thinking "OK, this is a safe appointment. No real concerns here. It's not like this moron would try to buy Greenland or anything."

I've said it before, I'll say it again. The thought of buying Greenland is not moronic. How he went about it and the aftermath of it are perhaps what is causing the rub, but the actual idea of buying greenland is not an awful one.

As the ice melts there will be new and improved arctic shipping lanes opening up. Sure wouldnt hurt to have some control over those. Increasing the amount of land owned is not a bad thing. In a time when fresh water scarcity is a realistic possible threat it wouldnt hurt to own a huge block of ice either.

I'm sure Trump wants the natural resources that are under the ice... but I'm saying there are other reasons why it might be enticing to have that land. Preferably without destroying the land in the process.

Agreed. I'm sure one of his oilmen osomething suggested it. I've also read greenland is potentially rich in "rare earth"... something that is used in processing chips and cell phones etc and something that is mainly mined and controlled by China. Perhaps he is concerned about his trade war impacts on this product and trying to get ahead of that. Who knows.

Guess it doesn't matter, at least we have jeep and ous trying to out funny each other to keep us entertained until something else comes up.

That all sounds like a fine excuse for Trump's lunacy, but I was listening to the guy that ran his casinos who said that Trump never, ever, ever thinks strategically, he just decides something that day and does it. Which is why he had so many bankruptcies, there's no planning, no thought to any decision.

At least before the Russians started bailing him out.
