Who’s more likely to still be employed at their current position 15 months from now DT or HCBS?

Two days after the White House released a reconstruction of Mr. Trump’s call with the Ukrainian leader, Volodymyr Zelensky, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitri S. Peskov was asked if he worried about the confidentiality of the American president’s contacts with Mr. Putin. “We would like to hope that we would not see such situations in our bilateral relations, which already have plenty of quite serious problems,” he said in a conference call with reporters.

He emphasized that accounts of phone conversations between leaders were classified. The release this week was “quite unusual,” he added. Asked if the Kremlin would be ready to agree to release the contents of a phone call with Mr. Trump, Mr. Peskov said that such situations should be treated on a case-by-case basis. “No one has turned to us with such requests,” he said.

Whatever is on the Secret Server must be one doozy of a national security threat. Through his spokesman, Vladimir Putin is saying, don't release these conversations or...I will first. And, if that happens, more than simply this president* may go down.

...There's no telling what information is contained in the Secret Server and elsewhere in a White House that has been reconfigured to resemble a conspiracy to obstruct justice. This, I promise you, is just getting started.

The folks have been waiting patiently. It’s time.
Here you go, Mich, "our" republican "elected officials" trying to get shit done, but democrats are stopping them:

Bring me something we can work on together and come to a solution that is good for the majority of the folks. Now that is good stuff.

Overtly partisan crud that we all know has no chance in hell is not good stuff.
Specifically, what is some of that "over partisan crud" you're talking about? I'm sure you know or else you wouldn't spout off about it.

Improperly using heavily secured servers is a very minor offense compared to using lightly secured servers for classified documents. I am surprised that hasn't been the GOP talking point considering their obsession with Clinton.

Politically, the problem here is the 24 hour news cycle. If there is actual damning evidence of wrongdoing enough to get a successful impeachment, it's going to take some time to dig that up. But if you give it enough time the public is going to lose interest.

After Isikoff/Drudge broke the Lewinsky story, WJC brought Dick Morris back to the White House to conduct some off-the-record polling, all of which showed that an overwhelming majority of Americans would demand his resignation if it turned out that he'd had any relationship at all with a White House intern. His recommendation: delay, deny, obfuscate. By the time the trial rolled around, almost a year later, not only was there physical evidence of the affair, there was also strong evidence of perjury, of suborning perjury, and of obstruction of justice. And no one cared.

Morris was right, in other words.

On this day in 2007, Rudy Giuliani was leading the republican presidential primary race by 4.6%.

...Sept. 27, 2019, 4:59 p.m. ET

President Trump met on Friday with Wayne LaPierre, the chief executive of the National Rifle Association, to discuss how the N.R.A. could provide financial support for the president’s defense as he faces political headwinds, including impeachment, according to two people familiar with the meeting.

It was not clear whether Mr. Trump asked Mr. LaPierre for his support, or if the idea was pitched by the N.R.A. But in return for the support, Mr. LaPierre asked that the White House “stop the games” over gun control legislation, people familiar with the meeting said.

He probably needs to open up his schedule so he can testify before the House Intelligence Committee on Oct. 3rd:

...Volker’s name was mentioned in the recent whistleblower complaint, which has sparked an impeachment inquiry for Trump. Trump has defended his actions, including a phone call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky where Trump requested dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden.

The complaint details that Trump told his staff to cut aid to Ukraine unless they helped find information on presidential candidate Biden's son, Hunter Biden.

According to the complaint, Volker helped organize meetings with Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Ukrainian officials.

The complaint also alleges that Volker went to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, to help guide Ukraine officials on how to handle Trumps’s demands.
