I used to think the “don’t tread on me” flag was cool, back when I also used to think Metallica was cool.

I also saw plenty of Q flags and apparel.

I saw one Trump flag but instead of the caption below Trump being “make America great again” or “keep America great,” it was, “cut the bullshit.” Surreal!

I also saw several Christian or Jesus flags.

Anyone know the significance of the yellow flag with 3 red stripes? I saw a lot of those for the 1st time yesterday.
I'm pretty sure those were the "Vietnamese for Trump" supporters.
I'm being dead serious.
My sister lives in a "suburb" of DC and sees them frequently.

* EDIT - My bad! Defix beat me to it!
My guess is that Jeff Sharlett is right that some/many of them are NOT Vietnamese and are white Rambo fetishists.

The thing about the Gadsen flag is that it represents states rights.
So now you attack a government of the states attempting to validate their states rights.

There is a video of the initial breech of the barriers.

There were four police there, none of them with batons or mace or guns. The gates were shoved onto them. One of the officers was trying to punch people. No chance to stop them.

Someone had the flag of South Vietnam at the protest?
It's been adopted as an "anti-socialism" flag by rightwingers.

I’ve seen another video of another cop guarding a door. The door is bum rushed, led by that tweaky looking dude in the Q shirt. The cop has gun, and also a baton, drops it, picks it back up and acts like he might swing, then just backs off and runs up the stairs while the Q guy and his gang keep advancing.

You can tell the cop thinks about it - even half assedly grabs his gun.

Statehood for DC will allow them to better protect themselves and won’t allow a villain like Trump to rig the game. It is clear that they purposely left the Capitol basically undefended on purpose. The Orange Occupant had pointed to that day as “special” for his Nazi friends for weeks. He must be removed immediately. I think he should be arrested immediately for Treason and kept away from harming the nation.

Apparently if you just say the things you want to be true enough times, they become true.

Also, even if it were true, isn't that like, 'me and 100 of my friends robbed a bank together, but there were also 3 other guys there that we didn't know....so blame those other 3 guys, we're innocent.'
I only came to kick some ass...

They were undermanned.
and yet, we’ve also so often seen police show up completely overmanned, open fire, with paramilitary gear, etc. for much less.

And it can’t be overemphasized that the president himself didn’t want the cops there.
Well the police will be there regardless, so the better word to use is the National Guard, who he actually has control over. He didn't want any additional support there.
Right, the main meme I've seen floating around has to do with the presence of the National Guard at the BLM protests a year ago, compared to their absence now.

I'm pretty sure the National Guard was there last year at Trump's request, and I read that he told the national guard days ago that they wouldn't be needed now.

So...even this, is something that should be blamed more on Trump than on law enforcement. And more proof that he's a cowardly, treasonous, arrogant piece of shit.

This is been pointed out, but it’s not like these are trained militants. It’s a bunch of dudes who otherwise be selling drugs in the parking lot at a jam band show.

Heck, pretty sure that tall one in the Viking hat sold me shrooms one summer at wakarusa.

self-fulfilling prophesies

much like claims of widespread voter fraud

trump said it loud enough and long enough that a majority of his supporters believed it. then, that belief has been held up as proof and justification
