Gary Patterson and TCU part ways. Whoa.
There were rumors of this happening last weekend; on College GameDay they were talking about upcoming openings in the Big XII, and one of the guys mentioned the TCU job being available soon.

The whole issue with TCU and SMU was the beginning of the end. Continually lied about an SMU player knocking over a TCU coach, bitches about it for multiple weeks. He’s just a hard guy to like and when things don’t go well, it’s not a good guy to have leading the program. But 20 years is also a long time. The message gets old.
Sonny Dykes, who is ironically at SMU seems to be the top target. Which is why TCU is believed to have made the move now with Texas Tech also trying to get him.

The first CFP is out and umm they kinda crazy. Cincy 6th and OU 8th I guess that game with us did not do them any favors.

It should work itself out but if Cincy and OU win out and don't get in, and a one loss SEC team does in place of them, then the system is broken.

I doubt anyone thinks that either of those teams is one of the best 4 teams in the sport even if they win out. I thought the system was supposed to identify the four best teams?

I'll reiterate what I just said.
The system is ( would be ) broken.
If you loose a game, and there are undefeated teams with a couple top 25 wins under their belt, then you don't have an excuse for a limited pool of four. If OU wins out, that'll have em beating top 15 Baylor and OSU on the road - plus a B12 title game.
You lost - don't loose.
I think it works itself out - Bama and Georgia may play in the SEC final - OU has roadies v Baylor and OSU.

I have no problem with a one loss team getting in over an undefeated team. Teams don't play comparable schedules.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/s ... unbearable
"By contrast, No. 5 Ohio State does not have a marquee nonconference win. While it is true Ohio State plays predominantly Power 5 teams because it is in the Big Ten, this once again leads to the same debate we have had since UCF tried to rabble rouse its way into the top four: If there is nothing that Group of 5 teams can do in their nonconference schedule,
then what is the point of including them in this Power 5 playoff invitational?"
"So now let me consult this very long checklist that applies only to the Group of 5:
Get yourself a tough nonconference schedule.
Make sure those games are on the road.
Make sure everyone in your conference is good.
Make sure you blow everyone out in your good conference.
See? Nothing these teams do will ever be enough."
"There are those who might want to fire back and say, "Alabama/Ohio State/Georgia would crush Cincinnati in a playoff game!" Was it not less than one year ago when Cincinnati nearly upset Georgia in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl? Or does that not count because Georgia "didn't care" and "wasn't playing hard" because it missed the playoff?"

The Group of 5 conferences shouldn't be included in the College Football Playoffs.

Then why are teams like Cincinnati even mentioned in the CFB rankings?
