Spend less money. I am fairly certain that your average person could find at least $100 frivolous dollars a month in the expenditures of nearly every American who states that they are living paycheck to paycheck. We've had this same conversation a dozen times.
Worked in a methadone clinic for several years. Well aware, but the weed saps motivation and ambition, which is the point I was speaking to.KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 12:04 pm put down the bong…lol
you do realize that prescription meds, namely opioids, are a much bigger issue than weed, don’t you?
talk about virtue signaling…
If that “materially better” option you’re referencing is Socialism, save your breath. Not buying.Qusdahl wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 12:07 pm That moment when the guy with the PHD prefers to defend the system that requires a guy with a PHD to work 3 jobs to provide for this family, rather than just be open to something materially better.
Who knows, maybe if he didn’t have to work 3 jobs, he could have a better relationship with his family and everything!
Nah, F that. The important thing is the economy.
Glad twocoach is on Q’s side too.twocoach wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 1:57 pmSpend less money. 3 degrees and 6 figures beg to differ, but by all means continue to paint with broad, ignorant strokesJKLivin wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:05 pmWorked in a methadone clinic for several years. Yeah, one of my best friends is super intelligent, and wildly successful in his field (Systems Integration) and smokes an insane amount of weed.KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:35 pm3 degrees and 6 figures beg to differ, but by all means continue to paint with broad, ignorant strokesJKLivin wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:05 pmWorked in a methadone clinic for several years. I have 5 degrees and also make six figures, despite never having partaken. All that proves is variation within a population, not overall trends - or, in your terms, “broad strokes.”KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:35 pm3 degrees and 6 figures beg to differ, but by all means continue to paint with broad, ignorant strokesJKLivin wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:05 pmWorked in a methadone clinic for several years. On one hand, you get a successful pothead who is happy with his life; on the other you get an underachieving malcontent like Q. Which one is representative of the population? It all depends on the individual interpreting the data.
But I don’t need to explain that to you, what with your advanced degrees and all.
do you guys want me to get you a room? i’ve got the extra cash flow, so nbd
But I don’t work in Systems Integration!Overlander wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 3:01 pmYeah, one of my best friends is super intelligent, and wildly successful in his field (Systems Integration) and smokes an insane amount of weed.KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:35 pm3 degrees and 6 figures beg to differ, but by all means continue to paint with broad, ignorant strokes
Doesn’t really fall into this broad generalization
I’ve little regard for people who rely on substances that distort reality as a crutch to help them deal with it. Sympathy? Yes. Respect for their choices? No.KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 3:14 pmthanks for making my point for meJKLivin wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 3:02 pmI have 5 degrees and also make six figures, despite never having partaken. now quit painting with broad strokes and we’ll be ok
everyone’s body chemistry is unique, and is affected by foreign substances differently. you’re experiences are likely heavily influenced by people you see in your practice…people who more often than not have other extenuating life circumstances (otherwise they wouldn’t be seeking treatment), yet you seem to be on some virtue quest railing against marijuana…a natural substance that has been consumed by humans, literally, for centuries
similarly, my experiences have shaped my view…those that i know that have consumed recreationally or habitually are very successful in their respective careers
again, the truth is that everyone is different. for some, marijuana use is detrimental…for others that’s not the case at all
