Teams are willing to let dajuans shooting bet them. They still think its the best way to defend kansas. Make dajuan and mccullar beat them with shooting

On nights mccullar and/or dajuan are hitting shots, this team is as good as anybody. On nights they aren't, we are vulnerable

My favorite shot of the game.

Not his junior year.*

*Come to think of it, i'm not sure this is even true. Mason always was a three point threat to some degree - certainly far more than other players here to make note of this. I do not agree with this example. He was one of our better shooters in 2015 as well.

A better example would be Marcus Garrett here - where teams would visibly sag off him and dare him to shoot from deep.
I definitely remember a few teams giving Mason the Harris treatment. Don't recall if it was his freshman or sophomore year

Trying to remember if, with Mason, it may have been opponents playing off him to defend the drive just as much as/more so than simply daring him to shoot, since going hard to the hoop was always kind of his thing.

And again, trying to remember, but I don’t really remember Mason really passing up a shot if left open

Teams absolutely sagged off Mason A TON. They let him shoot. Dude had all the time and space to shoot he wanted.

Garrett is a terrible example because he never became a good perimeter shooter.

certainly not like Garrett or Harris. But he was definitely a selective shooter in years 1-3.

Maybe they're just scared of Harris driving too....those "running lovelies" he shoots are devastating.

Frank in his sophomore year hit 4 fewer 3's than Selden and was 2nd on our team in 3's made.
He led the team in three point percentage.
This sagging off a ton wasn't a thing. Maybe his freshman year.

Frank's numbers were high as a sophomore because no one guarded him. As a Jr. He got slightly more attention and his numbers dropped.

Harris shoots a higher % on almost as much volume as Jr. Mason.

The point was, Mason got better as a perimeter shooter as a Sr. So maybe Harris can too. But I guess you don't think so.

The fact that you didn't recognize my point is on you. If you just wanna fight, go argue with illy. I'll choose to be optimistic that Harris will continue to improve offensively.

That's because ( if we are comparing junior seasons ) they didnt sag off of Mason like they sag off of Harris.
Mason isn't a good example here.

This was never a good example.

Dajuan’s been good, but I’d be thrilled if he wanted to drop some BIDH on us

Harris’ shot mechanics are not good.

That said, the things that he does VERY well more than even out his shooting.

Dude wears the players that he is guarding DOWN

Yep.

The weird part is, when he gets dared to shoot, you know if he’s going to make it if he shoots his awful looking bucket shot.

Bill said in post game he hopes teams continue to guard Juan that way. Said he's a really good shooter when he's wide open and "that's who he is".
