No, but he did become a French citizen because he was going to play for their team. Until he got a better offer. And then became an American citizen.
Personally, I think he should have played for Cameroon and helped them qualify. But, oh well.

I'm fine with him playing for whoever he wants. Or identifying as whatever he wants. But let's not pretend this was something that it wasn't.

It’s like you are from Nebraska, but moved to Lawrence when you were 10, and got an offer to play for ksu and put them on the top of your list but never committed and then your dream school KU offered and you picked them.

He went medal chasing. He hasn't played particularly hard. He flops and whines with the best of them.
I'm fine with him being on the US team. But this is his doing. He'll get no sympathy from me. This is probably his only chance to win a "title". He took it. Good for him. He better hope we hold on.
