Although I agree with the narrative about Kamala's low IQ, which means I don't think comments about it justify his taking umbrage, I also feel like ruining a man's career over such remarks is over the line. As someone who passed his professional licensure exams - both basic and advanced - the first time, I don't have the same feelings of accommodation that you do for her.

I am very close to someone who lost their first academic post almost twenty years ago because of a crude political cartoon posted on their office door. It offended a tenured colleague who then stalked their Facebook page, where the cartoon was also posted, and rallied other tenured faculty to complain to the Dean, and later, the President, of the college to demand their removal. Despite the fact that it was pretty tame by today's standards, it cost them their job. It took them a good five years to get anything other than adjunct work again, before another school finally took a chance on them.

In their case, they were a new Ph.D. in their early thirties, so they had time to recover. Lowcock, it seems, will not have that good fortune. I genuinely hurt for him, despite the fact that I completely disagree with his actions.

My guess is that both professors had a Code of Ethics they had to sign on to and follow as terms of their employment.

Making the comments to students in class likely was a violation of that code for Lowcock. While the action of letting him go might have been a predetermined sentence, the public vilification and destroying the man seems like a step beyond.

As a licensed profession you probably have a code of ethics as well. I am registered in 35 States and the Codes vary to some extent in every State. As part of continuing education I have to stay up to date on those and how they may vary in particular States. One principle in every State is an obligation to report. There is also an obligation to address other licensed professionals and give them a chance to address or correct prior to bringing it to a board in many cases. If they don't, then the licensed professional noting the ethics violation is required to make the Board aware of a possible violation.

Dr Roger Marshall being a physician and military officer and State Representative should be familiar with those. He seems to have amplified allegations and publicly called for firing prior to having all of the facts. I wonder if he violated any ethical conduct codes in his social posting? His behavior seems reckless and irresponsible at best, maybe even unethical. What do you think Doctor?
