Having said that I don't support Bernie as a candidate even though I support several of his policy goals. I think his proposals are impractical, much the same way Libertarianism or Communism, are and he's misleading young voters, when he really should be working to turn them out to vote. I am especially critical of what he did in the 2016 General Election, and therefore would never support him in a primary. As a Senator I think he is effective; I would grudgingly vote for him in a head-to-head against the Impeached One.

Have to tell you that I went over to some friends' house to watch Super Bowl last night and was asking them about the difference between racism and prejudice. They're Republicans and one is a professional Republican organizer type and both said, "What difference? There's no difference." One is a millennial who said there is no way, no how, no time to use the N-word. The other is a boomer who talked about members of her father's generation that she used to tell not to use the N-word.

We both remembered good friends who moved away from our county because their brother lived across the road and talked about the N-word president and their Gen X daughter said she would no longer be coming to their house if her uncle was there. So they sold to a civil rights lawyer who told his mother when young that if she said the N-word one more time, he'd never set foot in her house again.

But perhaps it's that we live in a less segregated part of the country than all y'all and have different experiences with more diverse communities.

Socialist should always be used pejoratively because it is a failed ideology. People have tried it again and again throughout history and it has never worked. What other way could it be used, other than wishfully for really gullible or naive people?
