You can take the first sentence of something like that and put it in google and find it yourself.
If you want to discuss a complicated topic such as what you brought up, it's probably wise to include a link to your source that spurred your questions. I doubt anyone else has many talking points on the effects of colonialism in Niger off the top of their head. If you want to just spray random thought debris around willy-nilly then keep doing what you're doing but I doubt it will lead to much follow up conversation, if that's what you're looking for.
'And yes, I took my own advice, put what you posted into google and found the article you must have read myself. I like to research and dig into things to but it's a step that few here or anywhere else typically take.
And you would be wrong. A life is a life, and when it is lost in the blink of an eye due to an impulsive act of stupidity, it is sad, both for the man who is dead and the man who will die in prison.
Your lack of humanity is showing - and not for the first time.
I feel bad for the guy who got punched and died. He'll never get a chance to get a hole in one ever again. The other guy? If he felt was wracked with guilt over the situation, he would have turned himself in.
He didn't.
If doesn't feel bad for killing someone then I don't feel bad that he is facing the consequences for his bad decision. I only feel humanity towards those who behave like humans.
My bet is that he feels horrible but Aldo terrified of what awaits him. The fight or flight response is powerful and tends to overwhelm our rational nature. I guarantee he is not sleeping or eating or enjoying life at all, and he probably never will again. Deserved or not, that’s sad.
He seemed to be enjoying life just fine right up until he got caught.

If you’ve never made in impulsive decision that changed your life in a bad way, you’re fortunate. You’re also not immune.

yea. Forgive me if that response was too sassy.
I shoulda just posted some links, but the only media covering it is, like I said, middle eastern. It's outlets with names like Tehran Times, and All Arab News, which is to say, definitely just more Russian propaganda. As such, I guess I hesitated to post, so as to avoid some potential ad hominem.
The stories covering disputes of African colonialism are even more Putin parrot-y. There's actually some western media about it, but on the specific issues of things like, whether France is looting resources to enrich themselves while the countries containing the resources remain impoverished, is more having to read in between the lines, and certainly not published as clear-cut headlines.
Then again, I dunno if there ever were headlines like, "European settler colonies slaughter indigenous Americans and enslave Africans" in real time either, by its very nature.

Hey, 2026 is only 3 short years away.
I predict that 'Ol Mitch will be right as rain by then.

At the very least, by then he’ll have put on a fresh new adult diaper

I imagine he is past that.
Have you seen the butt plugs that they put in donkeys for donkey basketball games?

I haven’t.
Sounds like something I shouldn’t google at work.
if Mitch DOES run for re-election, man his opponent’s campaign commercials should just be all these clips of Mitch standing there blankly staring into space.
And in some bizarro world in which people care and things matter, there would be calls among leadership for Mitch to resign, right?
Maybe even leadership on both sides.
Tho it would help if the guy in the big chair wasn’t just as old

Yeah, if only Biden, a democrat, weren't old, he could call for the resignation of the republican senate minority leader and republicans wouldn't question his motives.
Except, Biden is old, so he can't...
smh

Well, the problem is, there’s a not-insignificant number of moments in which Biden comes across as comparably as old and kooky, that Biden’s opponents could use to counter.
And, in case you missed it, maybe ponder this addendum from like 6 posts ago:

When I consider what Biden has been able to accomplish, more than any other democratic president in my lifetime, since LBJ nearly 60 years ago, "old and kooky" are things I can live with with until he can't.

He also has a non-kooky Indian American vice president who actually is brilliant backing him up.
