TikTok ban upheld by Supremes.

I have this image of teens - hordes of pasty, squishy teens - stumbling out into the daylight as if emerging from a bomb shelter.

I'm pretty sure this Tik Tok ban is the result of U.S. Evil Rich tech bros working so hard to lobby against Tik Tok, under the assumption a Tik Tok ban will be a windfall migration to their own products, like Meta and X.
But, so far, it seems like Tik Tok users are instead migrating toward Red Note, which is perhaps an even more Chinese app than Tik Tok.
It's a rock and a hard place, especially considering what's become of Twitter, and what's becoming of Meta, in light of Zuck's announcement to effectively move even further rightward himself.

I, for one, am very glad we're doing this.

the sad irony is that tiktok is being banned because of china
all other social medias, despite their known harms, continue unabated
priorities…

yea.
I maintain the more appropriate action for lawmakers to take, would be not to ban one particular social media platform specifically, but would be to enact consumer protections across platforms.
why not make it prohibited for ALL social media to harvest our data behind our backs?
