The Republican National Committee is threatening to keep its party’s future presidential nominees from participating in debates sponsored by the Commission on Presidential Debates, the nonprofit organization that has hosted them for more than three decades.

In a letter dated Thursday, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel wrote that Republican voters have “lost faith in your organization.” She also expressed frustration with the commission’s unwillingness to adopt several “commonsense” changes that the RNC has advocated.

“Accordingly, the RNC will initiate the process of amending the Rules of the Republican Party at our upcoming Winter Meeting to prohibit future Republican nominees from participating in CPD-sponsored debates,” McDaniel wrote in a letter first reported by the New York Times.

In a statement, Frank J. Fahrenkopf, co-chairman of the debates commission, noted that his organization has dealt “directly” with the candidates for president and vice president who qualify for general-election debates, not their party organizations

So in the run up to the 2024 elections the Trumpublicans have decided they need to preemptively give trump a pass on the debates in case he runs, because.....he doesn't want to answer questions about his involvement in the insurrection? or about his lies about the 2020 elections?

But your anti-Capitalist rhetoric, as you know, is very, very present in social media.

That voice is heard in things that are talked about but haven't gotten real traction yet, such as a wealth tax or breaking up all large businesses or making private health insurance illegal (I mean, just listen to anything Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders talked about during the debates).

Sure, if you're referencing pure capitalism. But that doesn't exist (nor has it ever existed) anywhere on the planet. Having an economic system that focuses on profit does not exclude all people from having a fair chance to participate. In America, all people certainly do not, and have not had a fair chance at participating in the market. The system is, and always has been, rigged to benefit white people. Mainly white, straight males.
