Re: Evil Rich People

I'll say it again, this guy makes me more nervous that Trump does - and Trump makes me plenty nervous.
It wasn't there to witness in 2020....
The MAGA cultists have taught us that America no longer requires such rigor to be given the office. If Cuban, or anyone else, for that matter, merely shows us their tax returns, they'll be light years ahead of the current holder of the office, in terms of transparency, and the humility one might hope for from someone seeking to be entrusted with such power.BiggDick wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 8:32 am for the record, I think he seems a helluva lot more decent than a lot of other evil rich people.
where I'm coming from is maybe the burden should be on him to demonstrate why things like his own individual accumulation of wealth is a qualification to be an effective public leader.
Didn't he already do all this only to have them all be redacted? Just a dumb distraction.BiggDick wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:30 am it's pretty wild that we might legit see the JFK/RFK/MLK files before we see Trump's tax returns.
But shit, short of actually showing them in good faith like every other candidate, Trump's already come out and said he's been exploiting the system all along. It's not like there would really be anything too surprising at this point. I'd day, "I digress," but actually, this comment still fits very well in this thread.
As for tax returns, that's an awfully low threshold to be entrusted with such power here.
I think the candidate and leader we need, is someone with some actual class consciousness.
But, considering this is America, I would not suggest anyone hold their breath that we'll ever get one.
He will do it for no other reason than to delegitimize our investigative branches.twocoach wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:33 amDidn't he already do all this only to have them all be redacted? Anything to sow doubt about America and its institutions, so his cult will look to him for answers and protection from their overwhelming fear of the everything.
Getting the attention of the part of his MAGA base who are pissed off about his pardons for those who assaulted police officers back onto someone else is a conveniently timed event.Overlander wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 5:14 pmHe will do it for no other reason than to delegitimize our investigative branches.twocoach wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:33 amDidn't he already do all this only to have them all be redacted?
