Second tweet with the texts is the interesting piece here.
I don't like what I have to guess is a reference to Norm Roberts.
But yes, those texts are now
exactly as much as the NCAA has on us.

I can’t decipher the Twitter insert. How is Norm Roberts implicated?

If I read it correctly, there is a question about whether Norm has yet presented Adidas' improved offer.
Hopefully a different Norm, but...

Yeah. That’s what I would say as well and I’m no lawyer.
Wasn’t KT the lead guy though for Zion? Why would Norm then jump in? That’s what makes it odd, but there aren’t too many Norms out there.

Norm is such a buttoned down nerd. He coached at St. John’s, a Jesuit school. I can’t see him even touching this.

Some definitely damning stuff there though in those tweets. They rented a house for $800 a month in South Carolina. Then they move to North Carolina. Rent a house from a Duke alumni and pay almost $4,995 per month in rent. Hmmmmmmmm...

It's the "Wrong Mr. Pickford altogether" .gif from Dazed and Confused.
Wrong Norm altogether!

The car tweet too
ETA even just the 2018 G Wagon started at 6 figures for a base model.

Of course, and again, we all know how this ends:
with the ncaa giving dook a pass cuz they “didn’t know” about the Nike money being thrown at Zion, our own case be damned.

KU's lawyers have to be salivating. All of this is getting to be too much to ignore.

Also: my goodness, are people dumb.
And/or, this behavior is so commonplace - and so rational - that no one even perceives a need to hide it.

yeah, the whole Zion camp appears more and more reckless, almost.
and here’s your friendly reminder that the moment our guy curb checked a car for which the “financial picture” was questionable, dude never played a minute, and the NCAA was promptly made aware.

I don't think that is our Norm they are referencing. It says "hasn't presented OUR new offer"...so there is obviously a NIKE guy named Norm.

Didn't we lie about it for a few days first? Missed curfew or late to practice is why he missed the first game iirc.
Although its all irrelevant. Him not playing doesn't matter if we knew he was receiving improper benefits to attend KU. Known or should have known. The fact we wouldn't have any games we would have to vacate doesn't mean we are guaranteed to be free of punishment theoretically.
Also, who cares! I would conservatively estimate 25% of our highly recruited players receive improper benefits.
Why are people acting surprised about Zion? Of course he got something and/or lots of somethings. Duke is probably just hoping there aren't any texts between their coaches and the guys discussing these payments to Zion. My guess is there won't be. So they will get to at least try to claim they "didn't know or should have known" about them.
I dont really care if Duke gets in trouble or not. I just hope we don't get in trouble. And if we do, I still won't really be that upset. We didn't win a national title, which would be the only thing I would care about being vacated in the grand scheme of things. If they post season ban us then I hope its this year when there might not even be a post season. All this stuff is stupid. Way too many players get improper benefits for me to act shocked or give a damn at this point.

If we knew or should have known, then should duke have known too? Their star player was living in a million dollar mansion and rolling around in 6 figure luxury SUVs.
And yeah, when billy showed up to the first game in street clothes, coach said it was cuz he was late to practice or some blah blah blah, but soon thereafter, KU then wasn’t shy about saying we were sitting Billy until we got a better “financial picture” of the car.

Yes duke knew or should have known. Here is a not so hot take: duke knew. We knew. Everyone knew. This shit isn't a blip like K tried to say.
Here's my maybe not so hot take on Billy: I wonder if somehow Self didn't get tipped off by either Gasnolla or some other adidas person that the FBI was on their ass. I have my doubts that any of it had to do with a flat tire.
