Wrong. No defensive player touched the receiver. His hand hit the OB line after he made the catch.
Also on the incomplete pass, ie fumble, he was trying to bring the ball back, like a pump fake, and he lost control. Phil thought it was a fumble.

Meh, we won a game that we kinda sucked in. I dont care enough to argue it. Go (figure some shit out) Chiefs!
But on that last drive, a score ices the game, regardless of how much time is left. That's not a situation where you need to control the clock. This was made obvious when...the Chargers had plenty of time.
Agreed. If you need all of 4 INT's to win a game, then I'm not punting the rest of the game outside of a 4th and long in own territory situation. Especially with that QB, TE and a 45 year old RB.
It's not so dissimilar to when (in basketball) we have live-by-the-three, die-by-the-three teams. You can't stop running your best stuff just because orthodoxy says so. You can't turn a finesse team into a bullyball team, if you don't have the personnel for it.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 9:13 amAgreed. Chiefs fans have been bitching about that for a few weeks now, but I agree with it. Mahomes raises the 4th down conversion percentage a bunch.
Not to mention - our defense was not going to get a stop, absent a gift (whether officials or Philip). Our pass rushers could barely get off the floor. There's very, very little advantage gained in pinning them deep (obviously).Sparko wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 9:21 am Completely agree with Fish. I will also throw in that every NFL team can stop the run when committed. Scoring needs to be the Chiefs priority. Defense is at a considerable disadvantage late where penalties can continue play even after time expires. Plus the timing errors and free timeout on the meaningless fumble pass. I will say that conditions seemed to be pretty bad for both QBs gripping the ball. It must have been a little moist at altitude. Anyway, KC up by 9 or more is the Mahomes tempo+ that should be exploited every week.
If you're talking the end of the game - you need to run time off.
This is a little hindsight 20/20 here ( in your favor ) because of the Williams 50 yard bomb but the Chargers had 50 yards of offense in the 2nd half up to that point ( under two minutes left ) and we pinned them to their own 9. The Chiefs defense had clearly adjusted. Again, they are pretty awful all around but were doing well at the time.
