Yeah, that’s pretty mature too.

Todd asked the GOP congressman, “You’ve got one party that’s being led by Trump here that seems to be trying to delegitimize our democracy. Does that concern you?”

He responded, “But I also see another party that’s trying to delegitimize our democracy in far less dramatic ways.”

“At least, you know, not guys with Viking hats, you know, bare-chested, running into the Capitol, but calling for packing the Supreme Court, calling for abolishing the Senate,” he continued.

“And frankly, doing the same thing, the same justifications that I saw from some members of my party after the riots last summer. They say, ‘Well, why is it so bad that we stormed the Capitol? You know, they were the ones burning down these cities.’ The sense of riot envy,” he explained.

Meijer referenced the 2020 summer of civil unrest that gripped the nation after a series of police-involved killings, starting with the May 25, 2020, death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

So it has a name now, "riot envy".

I wonder how many people think/assume it was either a "white supremacist" or a cop. Possibly the person/people were both.

Why? Seems like he was being the voice of reason.

cuz seems like Hannity knew what was up before Jan 6?

If he is a voice of reason, he should have no hesitation to speak up about it, especially since Congress asked.

He was privately a voice of reason in those texts. He definitely has motivation to not do so publicly.

Why not?

If you were privy to a president’s allegedly illicit plans, and particularly once congress asked you about them, you wouldn’t feel compelled to cooperate?

Don't know, never been in a position where it could cost me millions of dollars and my career.

Haha, yeah right. Fox has no moral compass.

Wouldn’t that millions of dollars and career be less likely to be jeopardized by cooperating with congress, rather than defying?

And should individual personal concerns be weighed against the greater interests of the country?

I would think "sticking it to the man" and "owning the libs" would bolster his career rather than jeopardize it.

Well, yea.

But again, balance that interest with a contempt of congress charge?

He "knew what's up"? Of course he did. A lot of people did. He knew Trump saying the election was stolen was extremely dangerous.

I don't know why any of this would make people think Hannity was in the wrong?
