By any definition, schools out for summer.

Work night then.

They shut it down about 11:40. Not sure if the cops showed up or not.

OK, Boomer
Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

The DJ May have been working. Whoever summoned the police may have cost him income, if they were why it was shut down.

Possible. They still should not have been blasting music at 11:30 pm at night in a normally quiet neighborhood. Mrs 99 had to get up at 5am. I'm sure others did as well.

11 is definitely pushing it on a Thursday.
If it were a Friday or Saturday, you gotta let em rage at least until midnight.

I respect your sympathy for the DJ possibly losing some income. Very noble of you!
Let me ask you this, how would you feel if I were to have asked the DJ how much he/she was getting paid, given him/her that amount and an extra $100, and told him/her to GET THE FUCK OUT!

What about all those people who you want to work nights that are woken up when the likes of Mrs99 go to their destinations at 5am?

Maybe your neighbor has their window open to enjoy the cool night air sweeping through their bedroom. Then the roar of the neighbors garage door opening wakes them. Bye good night sleep for the guy going to the grocery store to bake your previously frozen sweet treats that you love in the morning.

Yeah, my rx needs to be refilled I think haha :)

So I transport my canoe on the roof of my truck. Brought it with on the camping and fishing trip.

I got home late last night and unhooked the strap from the trailer hitch so I could swing down the tailgate and unload some other shit. I put the tailgate back up and strap it back down onto the truck.

Deliriously exhausted from camping, I feel like going through these motions is dumb, like I'm being too cautious. I plan to take the canoe off first thing in the morning anyway, once the beav can help.

Then, first thing this morning, we get a 110 mph wind gust. Microburst shit. Knocked trees over all over the neighborhood, including a giant ass aspen in the yard.

Glad the canoe didn't blow away!

too random for the weather thread.

Does Mrs 99 perchance ride a straight pipe Harley?

Cause that would be really cool.

No, a Ducati Panigale would be really cool, classy and bad-ass. Harley is unbecoming of everything we’ve come to expect from Mrs99.

Moral of your story?

I had a bicycle that I really liked.
One night after going for a bike ride, instead of bringing the bike in to the building I live in, having to take an elevator to the 5th floor in the garage, walking up a half a flight of stairs (with the bike), going to the bike storage room, having to unlock the door, open the door, put the bike up on a rack, then lock the bike, then walk out and close the door, then walk down the half a flight of stairs, then take the elevator down 5 floors, and walk to the apartment elevator/s, I decide - fuck it. I am just going to lock the bike to a street sign post and being that I will go for another ride in the morning all will be good.

Well.... The next day I did not go for a bike ride. I called my ex and told her I was going to come to her house and get my other bike that I kept there. Pain in the ass to do as such because she lived 40 miles away (40 miles each way) and was being as difficult as possible in terms of my getting the bike. When I left my apartment to get the bike from her house I noticed my bike that I had locked to the street sign post was there and I figured I'll get it and bring it up to the bike storage room when I pick up my other bike from her house.

I come back to my apartment after picking up my bike from her house (* EDIT I have deleted the sad seen I had posted about) and I parked the car near the street sign post where my bike had been locked to - and of course the bike was not there. Stolen. I was pissed off!

Moral of my story - Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today when it comes to properly securing your possessions.
Glad you (ousy) didn't learn that the hard way with your canoe.

* EDIT

So your ex lives in Aurora? She could have just discretely put your bike in the driveway to avoid the sad scene.

She lives in Vernon Hills.

We had a plan that she fucked up.
She wanted to leave my bike at a small pool that is right near her house. I told he that's fine but to make sure she locks it. For some dumb reason she once used the bike when her's was getting repaired and I have no idea how/why but she claimed she "lost" the bike lock when she used it. She had never told me that. I assume it's true but how do you lose a bike lock that is attached to the bike?
So she was worried the bike would get stolen at the pool so the plan was for me to call her when I was within 5-10 minutes of getting to the pool and she would leave it along the fence of the pool. I told her I would be at the pool at a specific time and to just leave it there 10 minutes before that time. I arrived at the pool at that specific time and the bike was not there. I called her and she had some bullshit excuse. I told her I would leave and come back so she wouldn't have to see me and to bring the bike to the pool. She then told me to just come over and get it out of her garage - that she would leave open.
I got there and of course the garage door was closed. I called her, she opened the garage door, stood in the garage WITH her daughter, and that's when it became a bad situation for all of us. There was no good reason for her AND her daughter to have been in the garage. That was when the daughter started walking towards me with tears in her eyes and her arms extended to give me a hug and she pulled her daughter away from me by her arm.

That is both sad and cruel. Hope you are now 100 percent away from that.
