What am I missing about Senator Tim Scott? Republicans seemed really excited about him entering the fray, but I'm not feeling it.
I know being one of 7 on that stage can't be easy, in fact, it would be really hard, but his attempt to score points by attacking Haley because $50,000 custom curtains were installed in the embassy when she became Trump's UN Ambassador was incredibly lame. There has to be someone on Scott's team whose head was rolling afterward, because Haley quickly informed him the curtains were ordered during the Obama Admin. And, when she pointed that out, Scott asked her why she didn't "return them".
Pro tip: "Custom" curtains are not returnable, Tim.
It was painful to watch, because if this is the republican junior varsity, I worry about our future, even more.

I never got that sense.
He comes across extremely unnatural. I don't think political folks understand how anathema that is to voters.

I agree, and it only adds to my feeling of, for lack of a better word, "dis-ease", whenever I've watched him.
It adds to the reflex I have whenever I see a Black, gay, or Jewish, republican.
But, that's my problem, not his/theirs.

Thanks to video, I no longer need to feel envy for those who watched the entire debate.

Glad I didn't waste my time watching the live debates.
I must say, though, it was still 100 times more coherent than anything Brandon or Giggles have said in the past three years.

Bad news for Senator Shrek. I don’t think anyone else will be disappointed or impacted in any way.

The question is, did Tom have Randy in mind when he said this?
"He who knows nothing is closer to the truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors."
Thomas Jefferson
According to The Guardian:
It's a Falun Gong influence op:
The principal goal of Epoch Times...is not to generate profit, he says, but to mount a long and broad “influence operation”. And the goal of that influence operation, in turn, is “to foment anti-CCP sentiment”.

Today In: Life out of balance.
I'm flipping thru the channels, see that Liz Cheney is coming up on "State of the Union" with Jake Tapper, and I'm interested, even eager, to hear what she has to say.

Researchers found that an overwhelming majority of Americans believe democracy is 'at risk' in the upcoming presidential election — and about a quarter of those surveyed said they think "American patriots may have to resort to violence to save the country."

While Americans across the political spectrum feel democracy is at risk next year, support for political violence runs mostly along party lines.
Currently one-third of Republicans support violence as a means to save the country, compared with 22% of independents and 13% of Democrats, the survey found. More specifically, Republicans who have favorable views of Trump were found to be "nearly three times as likely as Republicans who have unfavorable views of Trump" to support political violence.
