Thankfully it didn't burn them bad but KC has probably cost themselves 10 points on missed opportunities.
Too early to play scared. They made aggressive play calls to try an score a TD. This is no time to get conservative in a first half. You put the ball in Mahomes hands and see where the cards fall.
Playing to take up more of the clock on your way to scoring a TD isn't "playing scared".
Wasting time in the first half maybe isn't playing scared, but it's overly conservative. Our best player is our QB. We are a passing team.

It wasn't ideal to not get a completion, obviously...but it wasn't a "mistake" in my mind to not make an effort "waste time" at the expense of trying to score a touchdown.

Obviously, scoring a TD with no time on the clock would have been the best thing to have happen.

The Chiefs defended themselves for their last 2 drives. Dumb.

They run on 1st down a ton. It was dumb to do what they did with that amount of time left and it cost them 3 points.

Once you don't run on 1st down, there wasn't much reason not to throw on 2nd and 3rd down.

boo
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
