World's worst home plate umpire today. Pretty much decided the game with blindness. It is time for an automated strike zone. Missed eight strikes in the pivotal 8th inning. Either a gambler or Mets fan

Vinnie is on a tear. Royals starting pitching is having its best month ever. Royals stadium looks awesome too, mostly full.

I'm very happy with how things are going ... but the whole thing (moving ahead) comes down to getting WAY more starts from six starters than can reasonably be expected. So I'm keeping my expectations in check.

The problems showed themselves yesterday. The Royals need a CF, probably a RF, and a 3B. Garcia is not a great fielder and worse lead-off hotter. I want Waters and Pratto back.

All of the metrics say that Garcia is somewhere between above-average and elite in the field. His defense is not within a time zone of the things I worry about on this team.

Garcia missed several make-able plays in a week or so. His hitting is spotty. Mostly he doesn't need to lead off.

Royals 8-0 road win on Detroit. The defense was spectacular. Leave Frazier in right. Man.

Salvy is pretty good. Leading the world in everything, three run kill shot tonight. The K starting to stay full too. Everyone is contributing--Garcia making me eat my words. Need Marsh back, however.

His best April of his career. His averages (.355/.415/.598), homers (7) and RBIs (26) are all career highs for April. What's crazy is that he is striking out much less and walking far more than normal. Last year he had 135 strikeouts and just 19 walks. He has just 19 strikeouts and 10 walks this year. Heck, the most walks he's ever had in an entire season is 28 and he rarely finishes with more than 20 on a season. The old dog might have actually learned a few new tricks.

Might actually be playing his way into Cooperstown after all.

I think so. He has started to reach some alltime stats. Best catcher in Royals history easily. Porter had one pretty good year, but was a defensively average guy.

1. I deleted part about eating your words, but the crow helmet nachos I’m eating taste wonderful. Haven’t had them in a long time!
2. Perhaps the ‘fullness’ (26k/40k) is partially attributed to the thousands of hillbillies up from Texas to watch some cars race around a track. Probably want to get a first hand look at the K as well as spend race weekend where the new stadiums will end up.
3. It’s still early, I’m waiting for the team to drop 11/12 or some nonsense and to return to oblivion. Another crow dish I’ll be happy to eat.
4. Modern baseball sucks. You can have your opinion in opposition to mine here, but three true outcomes. Yuck.
5. The K, although I share (just about) everyone’s opinion that it’s beautiful, needs to be relocated. Downtown isn’t gonna happen (seemingly right now), but somewhere with another draw to the area would be good. Sorry, Raytown is a dump and disgusting. The closest I get to the area most of the year is an occasional visit to LC’s for a beef Sammie.
6. Most importantly, go Royals.

Q is just terrible at scratching out runs. Lost another one today. The manager is about -4 wins right now.

Fun fact, the upper bowl capacity at Kauffman is within a few dozen of...16,300. Always fun, when I'm at the K, to think about that entire bowl being jammed into that shoebox on Naismith Dr.

Quartraro is just so bad at managing the bullpen. Just so bad. But survived.
Need more bats.

I don't know what was pulled in tonight's Angels game, but the balls thrown to the Royals were dead. Did not carry at all. Apple TV seemed to have an Angels hard on.

Just looks like different baseballs again tonight. Vinnie hit one into the stratosphere that mysteriously died. I have watched every series, but these last two games are 1926 looking.

Best start in club history. Bobby hit the upper water spectacular in left center. 468 foot blast. Had 6 RBI. Q starting to scratch out runs better. Team hits so much better at home
