Think Hull ultimately gets the job. FYI.

Hull?? No way. He’s not a coordinator/game coach.

But, the Chip Lindsey offense era was still better than the Beaty offense era.

Re: Offensive and Defensive Coordinators
At this point of offseason, I think it’s a decent chance.
Or go grab a hot OC at FCS or D2 level. Worked before at Big 12 level.

Actually, I’d be Ok if Les got Major Applewhite. Been an OC at Bama, Texas and Houston. Has done well at those places besides the weird thing at Houston where the administration seemed to want to get rid of him to get Holgerson.

Even if offered, I don’t think Hull would take it.
Guessing we’ll either go G5 OC or a position coach at a P5. Or some guy that wasn’t coaching in FBS last season.

Major Applewhite is the first name I thought of. I think he'd be a good hire. Any chance they take another look at Jedd Fisch? Seems like a difficult time to need be doing this again already.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 09, 2019 9:26 pm Actually, I’d be Ok if Les got Major Applewhite. Been an OC at Bama, Texas and Houston. Re: Offensive and Defensive Coordinators
Wouldn't surprise me if Fedora got a hard look. Les has been around him the last few years with one of Les' sons at UNC.
Maybe Fedora wants a year off, but a lot of those coaches are addicts and he will want to jump right back in if I had a guess.

Fedora was my first thought. Just keep him away from a microphone.
Fisch seems like too much of a pipe dream if we were interviewing him for HC.
Freeze just took the Liberty job.

Fisch, Applewhite and Fedora would be excellent choices...Pick one!

Re: Offensive and Defensive Coordinators
Call me crazy but I want to see some consistency on this staff instead of the turnover we have experienced in the past. That will help with the development of the players and recruits.
While all three of those guys would be splash hires I couldn’t imagine they would want to be here for more than a year to get back to a HC job. Maybe that is just a dreamers scenario for this program.

Honestly, the Pooka situation REALLY hurts here.

Curious as to why..
I think there is a pretty good understanding that Pooka will be suspended for a few games, but will stay on the team. But even then, Dom Williams and Herbert are really dang good backs if you get a coordinator who wants to run the ball. They can do what they need to do until Pooka gets back.

If I'm a candidate, my first six questions are about Pooka. Seventh is about Jefferson's.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 12:49 pm Curious as to why..

At least the new guy knows he'll get paid handsomely.

Seems as though a target has been identified for the OC position...
