When Bill Self says DH is the best "true PG in the country" is he lying or is he wrong?
I am confident that HCBS knows
what his guys need to hear, and when, better than any of us
Consider
this addition.

Some people might think Fred Van Vleet is a better point guard than Steph Curry this season.
I don't.

Cousy had a surprisingly shitty shooting % now that I looked up his stats.

Bama is a top 25 team leading the SEC and senior point Mark Sears, averaging 20 points a game on 52% shooting and 44% from 3 doesn't make the cut.
Meanwhile Jahvon Quinerly, on unranked Memphis who sit 6th in the American League, averaging 14 points a game on 44% shooting, but OMG averaging .8 more assists per game, he's on the list.

Harris is getting honored because of the program. And that’s fantastic. But the honor does not undo or even counterbalance his regression to date.
And you know what - it’s January. Story isn’t done being told.

I don't buy this....but easy way to discredit something you don't agree with because impossible to prove either way.

This.
And to be clear, he's a senior Jayhawk so I wouldn't trade him for any of the dudes i've listed ( but I do think they are better players ).

Of note, watching our team this season, i'd vote for McCullar for DPOY over Harris ( yes, I understand Harris has more steals per game than Kevin ).
I think he's done a better job there so far.

I think individually you're probably right. Several of them are future NBA players and DH most certainly isn't.
But this is a team sport and as Self has alluded to countless times, DHs contributions don't always show up in the box score. I think he blends well with star players in ways more talented guys aren't as capable of.

I agree. KM is an elite defender. Steals/blocks aren't the only things that matter when it comes to defending.

Probably.
But Armando Bacot and Harrison Ingram seem to be doing pretty well for Carolina at the moment.

Lol.
I still think he's a top 15 point guard!
I just think RJ Davis and Mark Sears are better than he is and I think that Cousy award list is a bit of a joke.
My guess is he lands on the All B12 2nd team when he should probably be on the 3rd bc of the things that JFish mentioned. Still a lot of season left -- Harris has just underwhelmed for what I expected from him ( for me ).

Really? You think a point guard averaging 7/7 on 41% shooting at, like, Clemson is gonna be on the watch list? I don't.

I do not either.
Where's Elijah Hawkins of Minnesota?

And there's nothing wrong with Harris getting plaudits that Hawkins doesn't; indeed, pretty much the whole
case for Harris is team/program. And that's absolutely 100% fine!

Man, I wonder the accolades if Dajuan was averaging a couple more buckets, like 12ppg or so even, like we thought he might since last year, and like upperclassman veteran returning starters tend to do

Is Clemson a top 10 team? Top 5 for much of the year so far. A likely 1 or 2 seed?

Would those "buckets" be taken away from KM or HD?
Why does it matter "who" scores?
Is it more important for DH to average 12ppg if it takes 4pts away from KM HD or KJ?
Sure, if everyone on our team averaged double digits that'd be awesome. But with 2 staters averaging close to 20 and another close to 13, I am not sure where these extra "buckets" are coming from.

It's the Bob Cousy award for POINT GUARDS and he is top 10 in the country in assists and has contributed to KM and HD being likely 1st team AAs.
