I am too but at the same time in the last decade we have had very few moral victories. 24 pt dogs on the road and you lose by 10. I’ll take that. In previous years by this time the team would have mailed it in.
Like CnB said the GLARING weakness is the LBs and more specifically the d-line. They are AWFUL.
And also significantly short handed. Missing multiple LBs and some DL as well.
The front 7 defense turned once Prox got injured in the WVU game.
On the positive from that though, Potter and Dineen have gotten meaningful reps and have gotten better.
Some good recruits coming on the defensive front 7 as well.

I’ve been pretty consistent in my ask for this year. Just be competitive and give me a reason to watch. Save for a couple of games they have. Hell they played with fight in a game they could have easily mailed in. This is an up hill battle but the program is moving forward and from what we have previously come from that is all I can ask for.

There haven’t been those 40-50 point losses. Worse one was kstate game, which of course. But everything else has been with 28 points.
I think you take that after this shitty decade of KU football.
Coaching matters. Miles and Co will recruit like hell and I can’t wait to see KU football, not only next year, but say in 2021 when I think they could be really freaking good for KU standards.

Is Steven Parker redshirting this year?

He’s played in maybe 3 games. So he will redshirt and be a freshman this year and being the primary pass rusher as Kamura and Stevens-McKenzie both graduate.

I'm gonna go ahead and feel okay abt this game. imho, D was not a huge weakness, and every position is playing exponentially better than in the past three seasons.

Yep, the hire has already been validated.

And it seems fairly obvious. There have been bumps on the road, but much fewer than previous years and the competitiveness and overall trajectory of the program is on the up.

1. We have a ‘crootin class full of high school players
2. We have an offensive coordinator that knows his stuff
3. I believe if he can get some depth we have a DC that knows his stuff
4. A HC and AD are in sync on building this program back
5. This is the first time in a long time the fan base has something to be excited about for next year

This is huge from a fan perspective. I'm not a believer in moral victories or anything, but watching a game that is competitive is so much better than knowing midway through the first quarter that we've already lost the game.

So close to winning 6 or 7 this year. That is a good thing

I want a bowl game.
If you can’t win six games which should mean going 3-6 in conference, then it’s still a failure of a season.
I’m glad we’re showing progress. Next year let’s get ourselves a few conference wins.
