Very KU to have the lame duck AD do a presser where he got absolutely grilled and then gets promptly fired not 24 hrs later.

Girod..?
Honestly not sure. Just really bad look to have him take fire and then fire him literally 24 hours later.

No one. Release a statement. Then have the interim AD or Girod address everything that has now gone on in the last 48 hrs. Petty I like but makes Girod look awfully weak that as the head of the entire University he didn't step up and be a leader.

Yeah the presser yesterday was the final straw.
I see it differently; I think he was made to take the incoming fire yesterday, before being shown the door himself.
No, he would've used less inclusive words, or stated he wasn't there to talk about his future, but there to talk about the future of the football program. He was lambasted so bad that it forced the university's hand. He probably wasn't on stable ground, but that trainwreck was the last straw. An interim AD could've easily came out and announced that Long was also gone, using Long as the punching bag. Now the chancellor or an interim AD has to have a presser and explain why Long is gone.

i don’t know...is it that bad of a look?
who is to blame for Miles? obviously, there are multiple people that bear some responsibility, but it sure seems to me like the majority falls on Long’s shoulders. so, it seems rather apt that he’d be the one to go before the firing squad

Like I said, focus on what we know best: BASKETBALL.
Danny Manning is a guy who is going to RAKE IN THE MONEY FROM DONORS.
Higher a competent, established football coach and it will take care of itself.
DO WHAT WE DO BEST!

The quiet somewhat anti-social guy that is Danny Manning?
To lead this department through this time? No man.
I cannot get on board with that.

What competent and/or established football coach wants to come to Kansas. This is like Iowa State basketball trying to hire Cal or K.

I didn't see yesterday's presser. Was Girod present and if so, did any media members ask him questions?
He should be the next to go.

I’m kind of on board with Girod going too.
Also, apparently Long’s presser performance yesterday was the nail in his coffin.
