these regional opponents are fun to beat, and there’s often a lot of passion involved in the contests, but they largely mean jack shit nationally

For most of the Rick Barnes era and 00's, the biggest basketball rivals were Texas and Mizzou. Things change. We were big rivals with Washburn at one point.
