But much like we are witnessing the death of the old Republican party, I think the death of the old Dem party is coming within the next 8-12 years. Hopefully then we can start seeing some common sense progress on things the vast majority of us agree need work (gun reform, tax reform, healthcare reform, environmental protection).
If only the Democrats had passed laws that cover every single one of those topics in the last 2 weeks...
Your desire to Bothsiderism everything has led you to claiming that you think the Democratic Party as it exists today will die in the next 8-12 years and that if that happens that we might finally see some progress on legislation that has literally all happened successfully within the last 2 weeks without the party being blown apart. Yup. I do.
The minorities and more fiscally conservative dems (hispanics in particular) are not going to keep marching in lock step with people like Biden and Pelosi much longer. They are getting fed up with the lip service during elections and then being disappointed with the continuous let down.
That's just what I think. Poll numbers suggest extreme dissatisfaction in those segments of voters with the current Dem leadership.

No, I don't expect that to be the norm over time. At some point, the majority of loons dumb enough to attempt such stupidity will all be in prison and the near-loons on the fence about whether to participate in an attempted insurrection will have a desire to not get arrested or lose their job.
