Id take Few Izzo and Beard.
Cal doesn’t work at KU.
Drew doesn’t work anywhere.

4. Beard
5. Oats
6. Izzo
7. Musselman
8. Holloway
9. Neptune
10. Norm Roberts, if we're counting active assistants
Having Beard (and Oats) ahead of Izzo and Bennett (and Drew 🤢🤮, although mostly because of the last 3-4 seasons of Baylor being legit good) is insanity to me.

Since coaching against the big boys (5 seasons at TT and 1 at UT) he's had 10+ losses in all but 1 of those seasons. Tied for 1st in conference only 1 time. And made 1 FF, as a 3 seed.

I think Cal fits better at KU than Few. Which I guess means neither would fit well?

Cal makes things about him.
He’s an entertainer. He’s loud. He loves the spotlight.
There’s no modesty, and a lot of excuses. A lot of talk.

I’d rather probably 20 other coaches before Cal.

Few is not that.
Few wouldn’t come to Kansas though-he loves the PNW too much.

I have always thought Few seemed like a d-bag.

I also don't think Cal makes things "about him" nearly as much as the people who dislike him think. He's definitely loud. He's definitely an entertainer. But I also think the vast majority of his former players seem to love him, and he seems to genuinely care for his players (most of the time).

The question is almost entirely subjective, so the only insane take would be to have Scott Drew listed because he objectively sucks.

To run KU hoops from today and into the future, age becomes a big thing for me. At 67, I’ll take Sampson who’s done more lately.

Izzo also has 62 losses in those 6 seasons at an established basketball school. Beard has 67 losses during a rebuild and another new job.

If we are talking "coach to run KU now and into the future" then my list is entirely different. I thought that was your top 10 active coaches list.

To run KU my list is probably:

Self

(big gap)

Norm Roberts
Jacque Vaughn
Jeremy Case

But I am in the minority in liking Vaughn and Case as candidates to be KUs next HC.

Two top ten match-ups today. Wife and kids gone for the weekend. I haven't gotten to spend 4 hours in a day watching non-ncaa-tournament basketball for more than a decade. I'm excited.

No fucking way KU would ever taint the program with Cal.

This is fantastic. Shut the board down for the day, 99 won it.

I guess so.

I mean, we could go talk politics, I suppose?
