I always wondered if Zach could have been an effective pick-and-pop guy.

Like, let him check in, set a pick, get the ball right back for a j. That might help with the mid-1st half scoring lulls, and might be using him to his strengths.

I don't recall doing it much. Rather, we'd check him in and expect him to play like an old school post. The jumpers he did take were more often out of sync, on a broken play, etc.

but, all moot now.

In case of emergency, break glass, let career 35.7% FG/27.8% 3FG shooter lose.
Or is it loose?
I guess both could work.

meh.

Yes has been year 2 years, and 4 total of D1 ball, yet he still looks too much like a freshy.

Just let a freshy make those mistakes instead.

not a fan of these mass exoduses, generally
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

MJ is young, raw but talented, and stands to play a bunch.

Or if he doesn’t, it prob cuz of his own attitude or something.

In which case…

we had no consistent bench production, I have no problem with opening slots for new blood

I abhor the offseason these days.
Transfer market sucks.

Id like yesefu back for depth and experience, but his ceiling at kansas is a scoring spark off the bench. And he hasn't shown the confidence to do that consistently.

At kansas he will always be looking over his shoulder at whichever other young talented guard is fighting for playing time, and yesefu will probably never play loose and at his best in those conditions

So maybe yesefu is better off finishing his career elsewhere

I will be kind of butthurt if rice leaves tho. If he leaves its because he is sour grapes for not playing enough as a freshman.

But playing time on the wing is widdeeeeee open. The starting 3 spot is his to lose. He ain't gonna find a better program/situation than what he has in front of him here

Its exciting. Schools like ku have a lot to gain from it. Poaching good players and filling holes in the roster. Instead of getting a one and done freshman that has to adjust to college, you can get a Remy Martin type player who's been dominant in college for a few seasons already

i’m with on that point for sure

maybe i shoulda said i wish our staff wouldn’t have missed on so many targets?

i get the need and desire to win, but i just hate the revolving door feeling…and i know i’ll sound like mich, but 4-5 year guys are the best

If rice and or yesefu transfer, it would open up spots for us to recruit shooters. Find some upperclassmen transfers that are bigger than yesefu or more skilled than rice

Next seasons roster desperately needs shooting

Feels like the future of KU basketball is trying to find the right 4 here guys and filling the last half of the roster with transfers to pair with them

I don't think Rice wanted to play college basketball to begin with.
