KU FB offseason
Re: KU FB offseason
Dylan Edwards in the portal again...I assume he goes to KSU (again, kinda)...KU's RB room is probably a little to crowded for his liking.

I’m not really big on the hate of rivals anymore. Definitely not like when I was young.
Playing 4 games at Arrowhead just seems so so so so wrong, though. Of course, you alm that are local sports fans 100% have had to ignore that your pro teams are mostly all play in Missouri to begin with. Tainted.

Arrowhead is a great venue though. Available seats, get the kids a head start on pro life.

Re: KU FB offseason
It is a great stadium, and works for the NFL (football in general). It’s also in Missouri.
As far as getting kids a start on pro life, nah. It’s not going to be their facility. And if that’s really a selling point, they all might as well leave after next season, as we are going to a 35-42k stadium. PS- I hope the finance problems, etc are being overstated like much of our ‘news’ is these days.
Hope you Chiefs fans enjoy the last few years of it.
Re: KU FB offseason
We got two transfers out of spring portal. Bai Jobe a DE from Mich ST and Amir Herring a OL from Mich.
Bai was a top 100 recruit coming out of HS and is a RS Freshman. This is Booker's replacement.
Amir is also RS Freshman and was a 4 star coming out of HS.

Anyone happen to know when they are gonna demo the east side stands? I thou go t it was slated for right after graduation, but no movement yet. And I might have been mistaken.
Re: KU FB offseason
East side is phase two. It is not part of what they are going to do before the start of next years football season. Although is should be able to be done in one offseason not sure when they plan on doing it.
From what I heard they are $100 million short on funding phase 1 so it maybe awhile till they start phase 2.

Re: KU FB offseason
I always thought phase two was the hotel/convention center/what the fuck ever else is planned (and will take 20 years to complete).
And part of why they moved games to KC was to ensure stadium will be finished for 25 season.
I had read about apparent shortfalls, but figure much of that is typical opposing fan trolling and misinformation.
Edit: the reason I’ve thought this about stadium is that how the ‘phase one’ details read, it talks of south side of stadium being phase two…but when they switched to KC games and complete construction by 25 of stadium (my understanding after) l, they demolished South bowl. It’s definitely different than originally planned and written on gateway district site. I just don’t know to what degree.

The following appears in the UDK Jan 24, 2024:
As announced in August, this demolition is the first step in the project’s first phase. Phase 1 includes the now-completed demolition of Memorial Stadium’s bowl and press boxes, the construction of the new western stands, press boxes and northern bowl and the construction of a conference center on the stadium’s north end.
Additionally, the east grandstand, still intact following the demolition, will remain standing through the future Phase 1 construction; the structure will serve as Memorial Stadium’s east stand before its eventual renovation or replacement.
Outside of parking and road logistics, the University has made no further announcements on the development’s next steps.

QB A: 14 starts, 84.0 Total QBR, 67.8% completions, 8.4 yards/attempt, 38 TDs and 9 turnovers
QB B: 15 starts, 84.1 Total QBR, 65.4% completions, 8.8 yards/attempt, 39 TDs and 12 turnovers
QB B was Heisman finalist and top-10 NFL draft pick Michael Penix Jr. in 2023.
QB A? Kansas' Jalon Daniels, but due to injury issues, those stats reflect all his starts vs. FBS teams since 2021.

I really hope we can get one full healthy season from Daniels. I wish I was more optimistic that it was going to happen. Back problems don't just go away. Fingers crossed.
Re: KU FB offseason
They did for me but I don't play competitive football.
I'm also hoping we get a complete Daniels season.
Re: KU FB offseason
KU's receivers are no joke too. This is the best skill position team we will probably ever see here.

crazy
i think i’ll roll with cautiously optimistic
now that utah teams are in the Big12, it should be much easier watching

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Re: KU FB offseason
Has the Big 12 (or whatever the fuck the conference is and/or should be called these days) ever had such sub standard pre season predictions?
It's kind of nice that KU got lucky to have what should be a good team in a down season for the Big 12.
Put KU in the SEC and I would bet KU wouldn't finish in the top half of the conference.

There will surprises in the 12
Re: KU FB offseason
If you could somehow promise me Daniels would stay healthy I’d very much take that bet ( that KU would finish top 8 in the SEC ).
