Tough when other forwards in your career are Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki, LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

Kyrie Irving got a vote for 2nd team All Defense so there are clearly some voters who dont take this stuff very seriously.

Kobe was 1st team in 2011-2012 and played 3 more games than LeBron in the regular season.
The guy was 5th in scoring. And averaged 8.5 RPG and 8.3 APG.

If they don't care, then they should have voted for Karl Towns. Towns barely missed 3rd team. If he would have been selected, he would have received $31 million.
I would have absolutely given him the vote.

I don't think Jokic should have gotten it over Embiid.
Joel more ( a lot more ) PPG, more RPG, more BPG, more SPG.
Made 2nd team all defense.
Jokic played 16 more regular season games and had more APG.

I would have voted for Embiid but I am biased.
According to ESPN Embiid did not average more SPG. He averaged half as many.
Joe played more minutes and took more shots so that helps him have more PPG.
Head to head -
Embiid 33 minutes 15 points (on 4 of 17 shooting) 12 rebounds 4 blocks 4 turnovers.
Jokic 35 minutes 27 points (on 11 of 22 shooting) 10 rebounds 3 steals 4 turnovers.
Either guy is deserving. Like I said, I would have voted for Embiid - because I felt he was a more dominant player on both ends of the floor. Feel bad for him but hopefully this too will motivate him to continue and even improve upon his dominance for next season.

Who wins in a healthy H2H game?
Curry
Harden
Giannis
George
Jokic
Lillard
Irving
Kawhi
Durant
Embiid
That's a 7-game series. Team 2 frontline is nuts and might even have the best PG.

A little girl sent Joel Embiid a letter of encouragement after they were eliminated by the raptors. And Joel sent her a response. pretty cool stuff
But..... These were taken recently and he looks pretty darn good.

I get nervous when this thread is bumped because I worry Joel has come down with like degenerative arthritis or something, but when I see that gutter is the bumper, I know the odds are it's just kvetching over social media stuff.
