Re: Royals
Tonight’s result is acceptable.
Re: Royals
What a game. Hampson replacing Isbell was not great, but he had a slow roller that saved the game. Witt's slide on the triple was pure joy. I told my wife down seven the Royals would win 11-10. I was close.

13 above .500! Playing well, stealing bases, and the pen has stabilized.

Re: Royals
Oh the pendulum swings of the baseball season.
Hopefully this t3am has the cadence of a metronome and everything will happen on schedule.

Re: Royals
Umpire made Ragans throw extra pitches by not calling obvious strikes. Really frustrating
Re: Royals
Yeah buddy. Considering Vinnie really walked it should have been over. Umpires really cast a long shadow. Bad call on strike three cost the Royals
Re: Royals
2 outs down 2 bottom 9th Royals tie with a HR only to give up 3 runs in the 10th.
Re: Royals
Tough loss. But every close play went the other way. McArthur was out of the 10th with the right calls.

Re: Royals
Although I’m not a huge fan of the daily critical assessment of umpires, tough breaks, and flips of coins….the no call on the check swing seemed wrong, without question, and would have ended the M’s 10th.
Re: Royals
The calls the last couple of series have gone the other way and Royals have mostly won anyway. But today the last four or five critical calls went the Mariners way with no flip of the coin. That was pretty maddening. Baseball allows a way out sometimes, but McArthur threw 30 pitches and could not close them out. He was not throwing badly either.

4 with Yankees, 3 with Dodgers.

Re: Royals
Sparko, it’s been far from calls not going the way of the Royals.
Some of it is law of averages. Especially with starting pitching. Hopefully the e couple week funk they’ve been in (compared to first 2 1/2 months) is over. Gonna need the bullpen to get a little rest. I expect Lugo to do his job tonight and give 7+ innings to get the group a little rest. Hopefully his last start was a definite one-off.

I agree. But yesterday was telling. Every single 50-50 went the other way. I posted in the 3rd that the umpire was wearing out Ragans. He did not make it through 6. Had great stuff. You live with it. Hated seeing them ring up Vinnie and then blow the check swing next inning. But a great comeback. This one stung because of the incompetent crew and the next 7.

Re: Royals
Welp, Lugo not starting great lol.
Re: Royals
Lugo was still struggling a bit from his last game, but still looked good enough.
Some missed balk calls lately. Rodon was basically a balk machine with his mini steps.
Odd choice leaving Hampson in to bat against a righty. Q is sooooo frustrating

Re: Royals
The first called strike on Melendez with the game on the line was a foot outside. This is getting ridiculous.

Re: Royals
Anybody here happen to work for a company that has 2 tickets available for Thursday? I'd gladly use them for you all.
Re: Royals
Royals swinging at just terrible stuff. No surprise they looked like ass. Absolutely should have gotten to the last two starters. The Yankees look like a team built with money being no object however. 1927 power. Defense. Pitching. Half billion dollars more to spend than anyone else. Hard to celebrate for that reason. National Lampoon had a satire team built this way in the 70s. Hurts the game
