that last image is kinda blurry, and hard to make sense of. Is that a camera phone pic of Lebron?

just kidding. Hope the weather isn't causing too much fuss for ya, gutter.

Pass is still closed here, no estimated open time offered. Longest closure I ever recall. Guess I might not be going to Denver for for this bumble babe after all today.

The resort recorded 19 inches yesterday before clearing the snow stake last night. This morning, it already looks like this:

it seems likely we’ll get another cold snap, but these 50 deg temps sure feel like spring…at the end of january

Yea, I’ve noticed the same.

So much so I almost posted it in the frightening perspective thread

Just doesn’t feel right to have mud puddles everywhere here in January

No biggie, just an estimated 6 to 10 FEET of snow over a few days in parts of California. YEah it's greta for skiing and for water supplies once it melts but yikes.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/02/29/weather/ ... index.html

"Snow began to fall in the Pacific Northwest late Wednesday and spread into California’s Northern Coast Range and the Klamath Mountains early Thursday. Snow will arrive for much of the Sierra Nevada by Thursday evening. As snow spreads across California, so will strong winds and blizzard conditions.

Snowfall rates are expected to reach extreme levels of 3 to 5 inches an hour from Friday through Saturday – especially along the Sierra Nevada.

The prolonged extreme snowfall means 6 to 10 feet of snow could bury parts of the Sierra in just a matter of two to three days."

Six inches of pleasant snow has turned to sideways ice. Power is out and we can hear the tall trees collapsing around us.

A tree fell on my car. We have a two car garage but had moved everything from upstairs to down ( ie ready for summer ) so one half was occupied. BUD put her car in. Mine was out.

Power is out.
Giant trees down on our street.
We have to go a roundabout way just to get out of our neighborhood.

Great weekend.

I haven’t started my chainsaw or generator ( for more than five minutes ) in multiple years.

Neither work.
Well the generator worked for ten minutes then died. The engine was smoking. I’m guessing oil was burning.

I flushed the generator out with new oil. No dice.

I used a hand saw to get the tree off my car. My arm is tired.

Crap. Sorry to hear that. Hopefully there's not too much damage to your car and your power will be back on soon.
