Agree Newton. I think that Thompson has been held back too as a nasty surprise. He was catching the ball on some interesting routes this summer. Penalties kill in NE. They would have lost to Dallas without the no-calls.

CrimsonNBlue wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2019 10:04 am All season long has been Chiefs fans downplaying home field advantage. Other than the fact that it's been historically very important and playing an extra game has also been historically very important.

Should not be surprising on this board where so many say a 1 seed is no different than a 2 seed in NCAA hoops.
Not arguing for or against it, just so we have the data:
2019: 5 of 10 hosted games won by road team. 3 road wins in wild card round and 2 in the conference championship round.

2018: 3 of 10 hosted games won by road team. 2 road wins in wild card round and 1 in divisional round.

2017: 2 of 10 hosted games won by road team. Both road wins were in divisional round.

2016: 4 of 10 hosted games won by road team. All road wins were in wild card round.

Unfortunately, Kansas City has had little success when hosting playoff games, going just 1-3 at home at Arrowhead in the last few years.

I get why some may claim that getting the game in Arrowhead is a huge deal. But yeah, I'd still rather get home playoff games than not if for no other reason than to shine the spotlight on KC and have them reap the financial reward.

Just saw that Pats center, who was a backup to start the year, more than likely sprained his MCL. Pats will now be on their 3rd string center. Chris Jones, Tom Brady, collision course.

Brady has never liked pressure in his face. Jones, Pennel, Nadi, and Saunders in his face and Okafor, K-Pass and hopefully Clark coming off the edge. That could be a great recipe for a Chiefs win.

I also saw one of the McCourty twins might be out?

Brady doesn't like pressure, and he doesn't like nonstandard throwing platforms. That's why NE's approach (when confronted with an effective pass rush) has been short, quick throws over and over and over.

Which, to us in the playoffs last year, was like getting bit to death by a duck. Hopefully the vastly-improved secondary gives us a better shot.

Well this year, there won't be the now suspended from gambling Josh Shaw guarding Gronk anymore.

NE hasn't run the ball as well this year, that's been an interesting thing to see. Chiefs need to stop the run to have a shot.

I’m sure it is the Chiefs fan in me but this is exactly how it has played out in the past. NE is washed. Old. Tired. Is this the end of the dynasty? Then the very next team they play we get a vintage performance from Brady and once again the clock is reset on the Patriots Dynasty.
Wins are wins but I would love for KC to go to the tree house of horrors that typically is Foxboro and beat the absolute breaks off of them. Leave no doubt that between first Jackson, then Watson and now Mahomes the old guard is no more.

IF we did manage to beat their ass, while also likely grabbing the 3 seed and forcing the Pats as a 2, think the Pats would be scurred for a potential rematch?

Now that I have my anti-Pats take out of the way.

I do honestly think the Chiefs are better. Pats have lost 2 of 4, and haven't looked good in their 2 wins.

I think that the Reid has kept things pretty simple these last few games, I think he'll bust something out Sunday. Need this win to get a top 3 seed.

Tyreek Hill needs to be 100%.
He has torn up New England in the past.

Saw flashes of it Sunday. Catch the ball in the flat and straight blow by someone who had an angle.

But needing to see that Mahomes to Hill deep connection to make me feel reeeeaaaallllyyyyy good about this offense. Haven't seen that much.

Also wouldn't mind Hill in the backfield getting some carries or some swing passes in space.

Gronkowski covered a lot of warts for previous Patriots teams. He isnt coming back this year. He's the difference.
