Win on Saturday and KC will be in their seventh consecutive AFC Championship game. From what I can tell, the record for consecutive appearances is 8 by New England from 2011-2018. There hasn't been an AFC Championship played without either the Chiefs or the Patriots in it since 2010. Yikes.
Re: Chiefs 2024
Snow out of the forecast now but 22 degrees at kickoff.
Re: Chiefs 2024
True.
DJ Humphries full practice - should be active - does he start?
Mixon now questionable.

Tomorrow, KC begins their pursuit of their historic third straight Super Bowl. I am so excited that they were able to overcome all of their injuries and get to this point. Fingers crossed they can ramp it up in the playoffs and handle their business, starting tomorrow in KC at 3:30 CT vs. Houston.

Re: Chiefs 2024
Please let playoff Mahomes do his thing.
Re: Chiefs 2024
I am just excited that they made the playoffs and have a chance to go for this. Hopefully the defense can bow up and do its thing and Mahomes and his crew of skill position players can find a way to finish drives with more TDs than FGs, punts or turnovers.
Re: Chiefs 2024
I am a bit leery of all of the Chief's fatigue. KC wasn't getting calls before they became successful and we are due another Forward Progress game.
Re: Chiefs 2024
Mike Borgonzi to the Titans as GM. Sigh. Might have been the reason DHop got traded. That is a significant upgrade for someone on this board.

Re: Chiefs 2024
I know it is supposed to be cold in KC today/tonight.
I looked and it doesn't seem it will be too windy. That's a good thing. I think. Yes? No?
I ask because this morning I steeped outside and there were 40 mph wind gusts. LOFL when I say if the Bears had a home playoff game today it (the wind) would be a huge factor.
I must be a homer because I just don't understand how and why there are a considerable amount of "impartial" people who think the Texans will win the game.
I feel the Chiefs have the better offense, the Chiefs have the better defense, the Chiefs have the better coaching staff, the Chiefs have more playoff experience, the Chiefs are at home, the Chiefs have proven they can (and have) beat the Texans, etc., etc., etc.
What am I missing here? Why would people other than biased Texans fans think the Texans will win?

Mostly because the loudest media content creators sell to the larger number of fans cheering against KC than for KC so they talk up the Texans defensive line and their secondary.RainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 8:52 am I know it is supposed to be cold in KC today/tonight.

It sounds like Joe Mixon will play on that sore ankle but he barely practiced this week. Meanwhile the Chiefs are as healthy as can be this time of year and will get CB Jaylen Watson back for at least some reps. We'll see soon enough what it all means.

Texans win = "I told you so" (with a shit eating grin on their faces).
Texans lose - What do I always say in regards to teams/players/fans who lose and how they respond to it? "EXCUSES are for losers". I'm sure they already have their excuses (what may be valid - and not valid) prepared.
Mixon of course being one of them if he doesn't play well.

Today's sports media is mirroring the media in general. More personalities performing for clicks who know there is no accountability for saying stupid shit. Better to be edgy and controversial and predict the low percentage upset than to use boring, sound logic to predict the most likely outcome.RainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 11:09 amVery wise answer to my question/s.twocoach wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 9:16 amMostly because the loudest media content creators sell to the larger number of fans cheering against KC than for KC so they talk up the Texans defensive line and their secondary.RainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 8:52 am I know it is supposed to be cold in KC today/tonight.

Re: Chiefs 2024
Now that KU has handled their business, I can focus on the Chiefs game. I hate when KU plays on the same day as a Chiefs playoffs game. Definitely a jinx possibility when KU plays first.
Re: Chiefs 2024
Wind has more of an effect on the game than temperature. Effects passing and kicking more.
