Well thats a step in a positive direction. Anything that limits opiates is a good thing.

Good. It would be a colossal waste of time and money to prosecute. Weeds not my thing but its certainly not the devil....and no worse than alcohol in most cases.Feral wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 11:09 am States Hold Breath as Trump’s Attorney General Nominee Says He Won’t Prosecute Pot in Marijuana-Legal States

In cases where effects of smoking become detrimental. Most people don't realize that smoking anything is bad for the respiratory system, tobacco, weed, just about anything - we had first hand experience with the wildfires in NorCal. Perhaps the active ingredients ingested may not be as harmful or addictive as nicotine, but ingesting smoke and other particulates are not benign. I would be interested in seeing an epidemiological study where they look to see if there is a spike in the incidence of COPD and emphysema and other respiratory conditions post pot-legalization in each state. The rate of tobacco smokers has certainly declined and it would be easy to spot a trend.Mjl wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 7:08 pmOnly most cases? Re: Da Weed Thread
People generally don't exactly smoke a pack of joints a day. I would also be interested in a study like that and would guess the opposite conclusion.

There are plenty of other ways to injest THC that do not involve smoking it. Vaporizing it, edibles, etc...zsn wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 8:37 pmIn cases where effects of smoking become detrimental. I’m not against it for adults in moderation, but it’s not for kids and teens whose brains are still growing and changing.

Then there’s this that I just found.
https://www.theamericanconservative.com ... ts-on-pot/
Apparently there are bad effects on the mentally ill, and the strength of THC matters a lot, too.
Not about health, here’s what’s happening in New Jersey. Taxes could be $42 an ounce.

Neither of those refute my point. If anything they strengthen it.kubandalum wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 7:11 pmhttps://www.kctv5.com/archives/marijuan ... 13a47.html

The first has been known for a long time - yes, small amounts of THC are in breast milk. But no study has ever shown that to be harmful or worse than alcohol.
The second wasn't backed by any data indicating weed is more harmful than alcohol. And that gateway-drug crap just indicates they aren't arguing in good faith. What in there indicates weed is any worse than alcohol in any way? And who is advocating it being legal for kids and teens?
