I believe that the McDougalls (phonetic spelling) were the only ones who were convicted/went to jail. Can’t think of anyone else, but then my memory is not as good in my older years

During my 15.5 hour drive yesterday from Boston to Chicago, I listened to a fabulous podcast about Clinton's impeachment. It's amazing the similarities between Trump and Clinton. Starr's investigation started out as a pursuit of Whitewater but, in typical Clinton form, went in so many different directions. Perhaps the oddest similarity, at least to me, was the level of "who cares" coming from the public. Clinton's approval numbers actually went up following his original apology about Lewinsky. A lot of this had to do with, at least from the podcaster's interpretation, that Clinton was so likable and appealing to women, especially when it came to pushing a "pro-woman" agenda. Of course things change drastically when the issue goes from "harmless consensual relationship" to rape.

Trump and Clinton are brothers from a different mother. Serial liars who can't keep their dicks in their pants. Trump, however, will never be as "likable." He's more Nixon in that regard. Albeit without the ability to govern.

They are their own worst enemy. Yes, Starr was a partisan hack. But in the end, Slick Willie got what he deserved. The truth about Trump is coming. And it will be fascinating.

There's a lesson here, one which Nancy Pelosi remembers, but the rest of the Democratic Caucus seems either to have forgotten or never learned. In 1998, the Gingrich-led Republicans impeached Clinton and then a few weeks later, went on to become the only opposition party in the 20th century to LOSE seats in a president's 6th-year midterm.

Truth be told, he likable and appealing to a great many people, not just women. He was (and maybe still is) personable and charming and charismatic. I had friends who were in the Air Force and were stationed at Andrews, real, rock-ribbed, hard-core conservatives who nevertheless LOVED the guy personally because of the way he went out of his way to talk to them, ask them questions, learn about their lives, and REMEMBER what they told him.

We're lucky with Trump. It's much more difficult to discover the malignancy in someone like Clinton.

Which, in turn, made him that much more repugnant, at least to me.

Maybe there was something in Clinton that was admirable - his ability to reach out to people. To make them think he really cared. He's a fascinating study. Could have gone down in history as a truly remarkable President. But couldn't get out of his own way. Or at least his penis' way.

It kinda/sorta explains why Hillary has stuck with him through the years. She knew her own likability was stronger as a part of the duo. But she also knows that he's Teflon.

His Grand Jury just got another 6 months.
