Yeah, I'd agree as well. Dedric is our only good big without SDS. We aren't going to win the conference or go far in the tournament most likely with the current lineup. SDS gives us a better chance of vacating half the season, but also of actually getting some results.

I'd guess SDS plays starting next Saturday.

We need to force feed minutes to McCormack and live with the lumps, cuz the further along he is by March, the better.

By my count, De Sousa has now missed 18 games because of eligibility questions and not a single piece of credible evidence directly implicating him has been turned up.

The season isn't over as far as I know....

Anyone heard if we are going to play our remaining games?

Still with the best roster, best coach, and best home court advantage. I don’t understand those throwing in the shorts.

If they hadn’t been soiled so often here.

Agree totally. Garrett doesn’t provide anything DMac can’t. Teams further collapse off Garrett when he’s out there, clogging up the lane even worse. Dedric can help get DMac easy buckets.

Garrett provides a whole different skill set that DMac can’t, just like DMac provides a legit big man presence that Garrett can’t. That much largely depends on matchups.

I’m more so worried about when we need bigs, and letting DMac keep Dok and Silvio company on the bench while Self tries to pretend Lightfoot is suddenly gonna be the answer.

aaaand not only has not a single piece of credible evidence turned up, but the ncaa hasn’t even bothered to look, right?

Ohh he’s not ineligible, we never said he couldn’t play, just go ahead! But we’re reserving the right to bring the hammer down if we ever do decide to look into it, cuz you know, we’re concerned about these student athletes sooo much, oh but never mind the fact he’s been rotting on the bench!

DMac doesn't need to start. We are now down to 2 guys who are truly capable of playing the 5. DMac is going to have to be in there whenever Dedric isn't. Lightfoot can play alongside either of them, but probably not without 1 of them. He's just not suited to be a 5 for long stretches.

DMac minutes are about to go way up. And we are about to be almost exclusively a small ball team that isn't great at outside shooting. Not ideal, but we've done more with less before.

We need to lean on defense as our identity and we will be fine.

I trust that our coaches have a handle on it better than any of us know about. If it was that simple and he was completely innocent, and not a risk at all, then he'd be playing is my guess.

Our coaches are clearly deciding to not push their luck with the ncaa because they know we didn't come out looking great after the first set of trials. We are playing nice with the ncaa and self enforcing, and I'm confident that will not go unnoticed when the dust finally settles.

McMack needs to come off the bench when Dedric needs a pull. Come in, run, jump and shove like a madman. Fill in minutes when needed, but mainly just keep the gas down.

How does this injury affect Dok’s future with KU? He probably won’t be able to participate in the draft combine or summer league. This may cause him to return to KU for his senior year or go play overseas.

He showed no improvement this year. Still super-valuable for us, but probably even worse in terms of NBA chances than this past year.

none?

I thought he maybe showed some. Better intuition and timing on defense, at the very least. and for a few games there he looked better conditioned and more explosive than ever.

but yeah, shoot, maybe not. no expanded offensive moves, literally even worse at the line, certainly none of the obvious strides it would take for anyone to exclaim YEA HE GONE, plus new/increased concerns about durability...
