Like someone said yesterday when I brought up possible force outs (mutually agreed upon of course)....unless we get some recruits, we aren't going to have the luxury of forcing out a guy like Moore. We may have to heavily depend upon him next year.....and it could be disastrous if Dotson gets it in his mind he's ready to stop playing for free. We REALLY need Dotson next year.
This. The only commits right now are 2 unrated guys. And there aren't any high level PG's currently "interested" in KU, according to Rivals and ESPN.
Right now, I would say there's a good chance either one, my guess would be both, of Dotson or Grimes will be back to run the point next year.
I think Dotson is back for sure and Grimes goes despite not meeting “expectations”.

I also think KJ goes when D does.

I forget, in all the Cheick and Preston and Silvio stuff, that our history of getting boned by THE MAN goes back a little further.

Back to Ochai: I said when this kid committed that he would end up being most fans' favorite player. He's having the time of his life. Most players don't come in here starry-eyed and loving Kansas basketball. Ochai does.
yet he looked as poised as a third year player.

Man, Ben on that 2011-2012 team would have been awesome. Probably would have won it all. Replace Conner with Ben.

When you grow up on the mean streets of the Northland, nothing scares you.
But, in all seriousness, he really comes off as a mature person and player. I love that he didn't try to do too much. Completely understood the situation. Basically the opposite of Charlie Moore.

We would have been better for sure....but Ben was also a totally different player after his redshirt year....and that UK team was stacked and a tough match up for us. I'd have liked our chances better, but they'd have still be favored.

Well...that UK team was more than three points better than us, generally. But they weren't that night. If everything else had been the same, we beat UK that night with Ben instead of Conner.

Didn't they beat us by 8? And were up more than that for much the game?

My recollection is that Ty bricked a bunny that would have made it a one-possession game pretty late.

We had the ball, down 6, with 1 minute and 3 seconds left.
Ty got blocked.

Won by 10 earlier in the year though. Average of 9 points. Does that count?

That play is a dunk against 99% of the rest of the country.

TRob was ready for two things there - the follow up dunk if Ty had missed and after Ty drove after getting the rebound, if the pass had been a little better, another dunk.

It was the Big12 that did not allow partial qualifiers. The NCAA did make Ben wait a year.
